Nah Vash rocks Spike...doesn't really matter if Vash doesn't kill, he could make Spike go unconcious. (Also you might not want to forget the wepaon on his right hand that has nuclear capabilities. Although I doubt he'd use it on purpose)

There are tons of things you can do to beat a man down without killing him.
