Anyone else a RATM or SOAD fan?

Post by redhawk14506 » Sun May 02, 2004 11:29 pm

I just love Rage against the machine. Its premium for kickin a**.

Like the band says:
"Good music makes you want to get with your girl, great music makes you want ot burn down Governmental buildings and riot in the streets." (Or something close to that)

System of a Down rocks too, I also listen to Tool, Mushroomhead, and some other assorted Techno (Prodigy!)

I like System of a Down.

Good band.

However, the "Metal Elitists" (you still haven't given a perfered name tag) will say otherwise.
But hey, to each his own.
The Big O will KILL you!

I mostly enjoy Rage. I'm not a fan of it per se, but they're certainly one of the bands that, if played out loud (by my brother, for instance), I won't mind it. And I do like Morello's guitar work.

SOAD? I'll be damned if I say that they ever fail to at least amuse me. Nope, I don't mind them either. They can get on my nerves a bit, but I do happen to think they make some decent songs.

So, a fan of neither, but I give them credit for what they do
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I Like Rage Against the Machine, when it camed out
back in 1994 or something like that..nah must but more 1992 or 1993
The First record, self titled one with the guy on fire on the cover.

Those 10 songs really is the best RATM u can ever get IMO.
The song bombtrack is playin in the Natural Born Killer movie
wich is THE SERIAL KILLER movie of the 1990's. That movie
is WOAH !!! and the music goes really well with the
film.

When They released the Freedom video, last track from
that album, I really understood the message that they were
trying to pass with this album, and true it was very political.
They still are against what they were back in 1992 or so and
that's what they make em great, they also did the cover of
TIME magazine back in those years, and its very rare that
a rock band have achived the front page of this magazine.

And This is Exactly why they were making this album, they
had a message to pass and they wanted the most ppl
to hear it. So they succeded, And there lines (lyrics) in that
album were so strong that a lot of electronic artists took em
directly as samples for their songs: The Best exemple is
a very very very know and popular Hardcore/GABBER Dj
from Holland called NEOPHYTE.

He did a song called Fuck You, and through the whole track
you hear RATM voice: ''Fuck You I W'Ont Do What You Tell Me''
from the KILLING IN THE NAME, thats the best exemple, from
what Ive heard using RATM samples cuz this one is really more
than just one or 2 words sample...those that make em ''commercial''
or something like that, absolutly not.

It prove that the message was strong and ppl got it ^_^
As For their further albums, ive heard some good stuff and saw the
videos on ''MTV'' and Iv'e seen some good and bad
I liked The Evil Empire cd, my cousin have The Battle of Los Angeles
but havent really took a listen further than this that I remember.

RATM will always be first album for me, I still listen to it like 12 years
later and I bought it when it just camed out. And About sytem of a down:
I enjoyed some of their video: sugar and when angels deserve to die and thats about it..oh another one from toxicity were theyre eating seeds..humm I saw more then 3 SOAD videos..nway I enjoyed the videos and thats about it, not really into the music, im not saying its bad or anything its just that I dont feel the need to listen to them. But the videos were good

I hate RATM with every fiber of my being. Zach de la Rocha really, really sucks.

SOAD's pretty cool, though. Have their first two cds, although I don't listen to them much anymore.

RATM is way too cool for this world. SOAD, hmmmm idon't know, never heard their stuff...

I think that RATM's best song is Bombtrack, cuz you can play it anywhere and nobody will get mad at you (cuz they don't cuss) i also like "Wake up" cuz when i first heard it, it was really hard to figure out what Zack was saying. They are one of the best rap/rockers in this worlds history. check my site out, cuz i think i talk about them there.
