Only thing I can remember from two French classes in high school is something that's said wrong:

"Je frappe ton tete avec une poisson!"

/awaits verbal slapping from Willow

The sentence means "I hit your head with a fish" (makes me think of "Asterix" for those who know)...

Explaining why it's incorrect is difficult, because in English nouns don't have a gender...but basically in French a fish is a "he" and a head is a "she"...and here it's the opposite, so it sounds typically "I'm an english/american person trying to speak french", but that's cute :P

Hey I should be a french teacher

It must be the legacy of the Catharist Troubadors of Languedoc, no doubt.

Literal translation: my ankles are swelling.

But I don't know if this has any meaning in English!

(To English speakers: in French, we say that somebody's ankles are swelling to say that he/she's pretentious. I don't know if you have an equivalent expression... or maybe the same??)

Hmm, I thought the expression for a pretentious person was "il pète plus haut que son cul" :? .

I can't think of any English equivalents that don't have curse words in 'em.
