It should be noted that this is the same person who, in another part of the forum, is complaining about how the "sk8ter scene" isn't well represented in anime.Kitstune3 wrote:Hiphop period, is a vast resevoir which will propably remain untapped, until someone brilliant like me comes along to do it.

And you started off so mature.Completely Wreckless wrote:You stupid piece of shit. This thread is about underground, ie. fucking underground moron. Underground has nothing to do with pop (pussy.over. pride).
Fuck MTV.
I'd like to see ANY rap artist match the musical technical talent of Dream Theater.Rock is simple, in actuallity overly simple.

Hello generalization train!Completely Wreckless wrote: Compared to rock hiphop is a million times harder. Not only are there beats that have to be created, which often are as various or more, than the basic rock beats. The lyrics are what make hiphop incredible. An entire rock song would be 8 bars in a hiphop song. I've heard canibus drop 48 bars with no hook. Thats rapping non stop 4 minutes. He was on some dumb shit talking about rebuilding atlantis.
And I've heard Robert Fripp play a moto perpetuo solo - semi-quavers at 138 bpm, all cross-picked, mostly continuous, written and delineated, in the time signature of 15/8.
HA.
Please. If you make generalizations about both sides, don't give us a general stereotypified 'formula' of 'rock' and then an exceptional single case of hip-hop as proof. This isn't how patterning works.
And considering your hate of Prog nailz, I consider your above post a noble, unbiased move. Good work there...

Fairly small amounts of the hiphop I own are "niggaz&hoes" style rap. Here's a fairly small example (and I didn't even need anything 'underground').nailz1000 wrote:I want to see how lyrically different these 'underground' rappers are from mainstream. It seems to me the only thing any rapper can rap about is 'shootin up hoes wit dem favorite negros on the streetz they chose and a box of no-doz.'

That's from Stankonia. I got that CD. Right on taeli Actually I have all five Outkast CDs. Anyway I think that most rock songs go well in AMVs. Oops I agreed again, sorry. But there are rap songs that fit well in AMVs. And that's form any era '83-present. You just have to be open-minded about it. Experiment a little. It's just that underground artists aren't as rich as their mainstream counterpats, so they have no reason to talk about Bentleys, and bling. (97.8% on their songs talk about the stuggles faced by all the young people, not just about kids in the hood. All hiphop speaks for the youth, like rock. I agreed again, man I'm good. Kidding.

Is that Linkin Park I see there? Doesn't that group consists of an emcee (rapper) and a turntablist (a dj who spins)? Aren't those the two main components to creating rap/hip-hop music? Yeah, I believe so. You claim that rap = crap, but yet you admit to like a group that incorporates said crap into their own music. good job at contradicting yourself[/quote]
well first of all linkin park isnt really rap its more rock then rap, And look and coldplay they have a turntable and there not rap and what other bands have turntables, i think slipknot might even have turntable now im not to sure but i think. Well if you want me to stop bashing rap then i will but that doesnt mean that i wont stop else where cuz theres other people that deserve to hear what i have to say do you agree with me or not? well any ways i aplogize for doing that and i hope you have a chance to forgive me and what i said about the other people that need the same thing i was just kidding lol. Well again im sorry. but i still wont have a different view about rap though i will always say the same thing about rap as long as i live. well piece out

I like some rap, though metal is my favorite genre of music. Aesop Rock, Mr. Lif, Atmosphere, Kool Keith, Jedi Mind Tricks, Hieroglyphics, A Tribe Called Quest, Code Name Scorpion, and plenty of others.
I've also said this before, many times: all genres of music have their good material, and their shit. Rap, metal, and rock included. Having blanket opinions of things and simply dismissing them is only self-defeating.
