otakon deadline---for the desperate
with things being as hectic this year, I'll give those who email me my home address so that, if they want to, they can drive over the submission form before the deadline.
This is just a courtesy, of course and no one is under any obligation to actually drive to my place unless the feel they have to.
Anyhoo, my email is superion03 'at' aol 'dot' com.
make sure you put a subject heading I can recognize, or else I may not be able to get it past my spam filter.
also I can still accept questions on the contest if anyone still wishes to ask.

For the record, let's get this straight...
The absolute deadline for the contest is that the submission form must be mailed in and received by... and the video must be sent/uploaded and received by...
Monday, May 10th... correct?
Not that it matters to me, since I've got everything sent/uploaded already, but I know lots of friends who are still working their asses off, and a definite word from the coordinator on when the deadline is would be nice ^^;;

Otakon Submission Form Discrepancy
The due date on the submission form has an inconsistency. The due date is shown as "Saturday, May 10, 2004" however May 10 is a MONDAY, not a Saturday! At this late date Otakon should have to honor the Monday due date, even if it's meant to be Saturday, because of the error. I suspect they meant to extended the due date to Monday the 10th but forgot to change the day reference from Saturday to Monday.
Does the submission form also have to be RECEIVED by Monday? If the entry is sent by FTP on Monday, and the submission form is POSTMARKED on Monday, is that OK or will it be considered late because the signed form wasn't received on time?

Whew...I got up at 6 this morning to double check that the DVD my submission is on works, and that I got all the paperwork filled out, and that I got the address on the envelope right.
...
Satisfied that it all was, it's in the mail (I seldom trust those FTP uploads so I prefer s-mail in this case). I hope to every concievable deity that it gets there and works, because I've been trying to submit a video for the last 3 years now, and always something at the last minute gets screwed up. Almost did again this year, but I barely made it.
...
Now that my vid os done and sent, I feel hollow....what do I do with my time now?

I noticed the inconsistency too, but it was only on the submission form that goes to Geoff. In the rules section, it states twice that video submissions going to Quu or his ftp are due Saturday, May 8. So I figured May 10 deadline for form and May 8 deadline for video.

I dunno...read a book? Take advantage of the nice weather and discover your local cricket club? Watch some new anime? Swim? Do homework/finals? Work some overtime so that you have extra $$ to spend at the con?mister_freeze2 wrote:Now that my vid os done and sent, I feel hollow....what do I do with my time now?
