Why is it not right? I only want to find someone who shares my same interests, which happens to be anime and video games. Is that such a crime? It's just like when some guy is interested only in short petite and blond women. It just happens to be personal tastes.

To elaborate:

I think the people who are saying that they MUST have a bf/gf with the same intrests are wrong because I think that it would be better to like them (and call me old fashioned if you want) for other reasons e.g. personality, looks. Similar intrests are what I would be the first thing I would look in a friend rather than a gf.

Agreed. I just think that having a gf with that same interest would be a huge bonus, but then again, I've never had that, so dating is still an experiment for me, so I'm just trying to find out for myself what I like the best in a gf. The girl I'm with now has a better personality and similar interests, as opposed to my ex-gf, who was mainly just for looks...finding out what's most important for what you want in a real relationship is what dating's all about! (To me, at least.) So I'm just trying something I've never had before to see if I like it. Is that so wrong?

..though i see you already got a girl that has something that would interest any other anime guy. hehe.. anyways, yea, you would know a person better if you started from frienship then to dating..
