AVI files are NOT like VOB files. They do not contain the subtitles by themselves seperately from the video, so no, there is no way, and yes you are screwed. No exception. For perspective you'd have just as much luck asking if there are programs that will automatically pull Keitaro out of OMG, and replace him with home movies of you. It's really just that impossible.

Your best bet is to either crop your video so that the sub titles aren't even visable, or go for the MUCH better option and get yourself some footage from DVDs where the subs can be turned off or put into the language of your choice. However considering the anime you've chosen, waiting for the DVDs to come out wherever you are is prolly your best bet as downloaded footage usually not only looks like crap once you go to recompress it, but is a nightmare for programs like Premiere to handle correctly, AND is completely frowned apon by most of the people here on this site.

OGM's are the little files that contain the subtitle information in the VOBS that I was telling you about.

And in case you are tempted to ask, No you cannot convert AVIs into VOBs.

It's non of my business whether or not he's pirating anything. I'm just trying to give him an answer to his question that's all. He doesn't need a serman from me i'm sure. And at least in this case it's for an anime that's a little more difficult to get DVDs of then say BeBop for example.

But not that me and Janzki both thold him he was screwed. That can be interpreted several ways ;) I also added how it's frowned upon, so really the choice is his from here. But it was a simple question, and I had a simple answer, so fair is fair.

(BTW SS121, the new avatar is TONS better. )
