That it does. But you never know, they could be presented in a really sweet way . . . And I personally wouldn't necessarily mind if they were just animated kung fu flicks . . . although that could turn out horribly. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Like Wonderful Days, but seriously I think China should give up on the whole animation thing and stick with their live action movies instead.

I'll stick with HK comic books until they improved their animation quality.

Don't get me wrong. Naruto had a amazingly dry and cliche description at Animeinfo as well, and i find myself wanting to watch more. There's nothing bad with cliche except a bad presentation of it.

There was one Chinese animated movie that I remember was released. "Chinese Ghost Story" The film was either written or produced or both (I can't recall) by Tsui Hark, the man responsible for a lot of Hong Kong action films, most notibly the 'Wong Fei Hung" series and some John Woo films. It was rather funny film.

To me it was good. I thought it was a lot of fun to watch. Go ahead and give it a try if you can find it.

Reviews of Tsui Hark's Animated Chinese Ghost Story

I'm still convinced that some of the sets in Spirited Away were borrowed from this Tsui Hark film, but I might be the only one who thinks that. In any event, it's not very deep, but it is fun. And it has some of the most beautiful animation you're likely to see.

I think i remember hearing something about Chinese Ghost Story a while back and it was suggested that i see it if possible, but my question is, do you think its worth purchasing? problem i have is that its nearly impossible to rent anime around me, the places that rent anime have a very sparse selection and mostly just mainstream anime
