Who pounds ass with a dry dick?

The entire Quannum Record crew:

Starting with DJ Shadow the greatest fucking DJ this part of the Galaxy.
There is really few words to describe this guy. He's created an entire genre of music. His CDs deliver and they put you in a mind state nothing else can.

Next is Latyrx, Lateef the truth Speaker and Lyrics Born, their style is as if God shit into their brains, it's wicked. Lateef can rhyme off of anything while LB's style is incredible, he's on sing, sung, sang shit.

Blackalicious, is Godly. Gift of Gab he can do anything responsible for shit like Make You Feel that Way, Passion, and the entire album Fourth Dimensional Rocketships, is a masterpiece.

Lifesavas, Spirits In Stone, 'nuff said.

I got a list of good shit, Eyedea and Abilities, TY, The Roots, Bucfifty, Crooked I, David Banner, Cyne, Swollen Members, K-OS (no words to describe the level this kid is on)

Hip Hop by far is the most diverse genre of music, you got rap to laid back jazz, rap to r and b type shit, rap to electronic, rap to guitar riffs, everything.

If you don't listen to rap, you should. Do a search and find something that plays to the shit ou already like.
If Wonder Woman has an INVISIBLE PLANE how can she FIND it? And that Superman... If He IS the man of steel, Why dosen't he RUST in the rain? See, that is why ANime Rules all

Some of the rap/hip-hop I listen to includes, but is not limited to:

Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Mr. Lif, Hieroglyphics, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, Kool Keith, Warren G, Gang Starr, Swollen Members, De La Soul, Dilated Peoples, and Nappy Roots. That's all I can remember off the top of my head.
T.O. rules me.

And yes. Even Vanilla Ice. He does rock/rap right, and he's made several albums since ol' Ice Ice Baby. Hell, he paved the way for Eminem. That... or I just like the corny factor of it all.
um... i liked his hair! lol

I can't believe it took me this far to see someone mention A Tribe Called Quest (Midnight Marauders my favorite album of all time) and Hieroglyphics...I'm a Souls of Mischief fan and still listen to the '93 Til Infinity album on the regular.

Others I listen to....

Chino XL
Redman/Method Man
Keith Murray

If you can find me rappers who rap about trolls who come down from a mountian and kill christians while playing accordians in a language other than english, I'll be willing to consider this a truth.

Why are you so compelled to attack rap/hip-hop almost all the time? This thread and most other rap threads has very little to do with you and yet you find some ugre to pass along the fact that you simply aren't interested in rap. I don't see rap enthuseists going into the rock, punk, metal threads and just randomly blurting out why rap is more in their interests than whatever genre that thread just happens to be about. Perhaps a few, but I never noticed and you seem to infiltrate nearly every thread similar to this one and always trying to put down the music.

You may know a lot of the music that you listen to and have a good reasons on why you listen to them, but those reasons are yours alone and no one elses. The reasons I listen to rap is:

1) I simply grew up with it, its a part of my personal culture. Like in some cultures, people celebrate a new year based on the Moon and not the Sun. May seem silly to you, but hey, it's tradition.

2) I can relate to what rappers rap about. My best friend's older brother was a former gang member who was also a good friend of mine as well, and he was killed several years ago. Rappers rap about this shit you know. And they almost always put a positive message into it reminding people that life goes on.

Another way I can relate to the contents of rap is because, yes, I am an ethnic minority. I have been pulled over by cops, kicked out of stores because of the people I'm with and because of the way I dressed, been the butt of a racial joke behind closed doors at work, and have had racial slurs thrown at me (I'm Asian btw)

That kind of shit in life depressing, except when I put in a rap album and listen. What do I hear? I hear that I'm not alone, I hear that this shit isn't just happening to me. I hear someone trying to guide me out of this mess.

Those are my reasons for rap and mine alone, some others may have the same reasons.

Rock is decent too, but its too fucking drepressing for me. Based on my generalized and narrow view of rock what I hear is :
suicides (Linkin Park, Led Zeppelin)
necrophilia (Slayer and such)
usage of drugs to escape depression
satan, I know its for shock purposes but its still fucked up

I know there are a few positive songs in rock too, but rap is my preferred taste and I never think about suicide nor do I even want to

Whatever the hell your reasons for your music may be, its not reason enough for you to go barging in to a thread or discussion that has very little to do with you and start spitting on other peoples interests, it makes you appear ignorant and looks like that you are intolerant to the fact that there are people different from you.

Hopefully you're not gonna come up with some bullshit reply trying to defend what you recently said such as "Here are my reasons for not likeing rap" or "Its all merely just my opinion on the matter, doesn't mean you to take note of it, and its constructive criticism" or some other faggoty responses simlilar to those.

First of all, as I'm stating again, you don't have a really good reason to be in this thread and similar threads if all you're gonna do is put down the music.

If you have a question about rap that confuses you, then just simply ask. Rather than saying "I don't like rap because all they rap about is bling-bling and dubs and chains and Alizee" You could simply just ask "Why do some rappers rap about bling-bling, dubs, chains and Alizee?" And one of us would kindly respond "Because they like to party, so they rap about partying to specifically be played at parties and clubs to spread the joys of partying"

I almost forgot to respond about this. I agee when he said about rap being diverse. Probably not the most diverse, but one of the most diverse. Rap is diverse not because of the content of the lyrics, but because Rap can incorporate many outside forms of music into it for added effect as well as sound effects and other synthetics. And yes I understand that Rock can pull this off and Techo/Trance/Electronica as well. That's why I said one of the most diverse

Demented - love the post. There seems to be a massive amount of antagonism towards this scene from some kids who follow a "rock/metal is teh only way" ideology. I'm sure there's a deep rooted psychological cause which makes them so vocally aggressive.

& your videos are getting downloaded >_<. OMG! you like Fallen Angels (just watched Chungking Express again).

Thanks for the support, I'm just saying what I felt about the matter after seeing the growing amount of insolence in these these threads. As for their cause for having to lash out here, they probably felt the need to rebel against everything they come across. Maybe, maybe not... I don't know. Whatever though

A fellow Wong Kar-Wai fan, hell yeah! I love Chungking Express, everytime I hear 'California Dreaming' I can't get that image of Faye Wong grooving out of my head. Her cover of that Cranberries song was rather hypnotic too
