Wow.... You just named a bunch of cool ones. FLCL is wacky, but is good. Witch Hunter Robin is great because of the mood. And that Gundam series is Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War In The Pocket and that's one of the best Gundam series.
Oh well. We're all entitled to be different. :)

Hey I like Wolf's Rain

Post by HeavyMetal » Wed May 19, 2004 10:53 pm

The kid's animes are taking a beating.

I had forgot about SD Gundam. Ahhh is it awful. Its like South Park without controversy and an entire cast of fast speaking high pitched umpaloompas.
blueshogun96 wrote:The reason why I don't like (not hate) Wolf's Rain is personal and I don't feel like talking about it.
When you do that people's imaginations can sometimes come up with things worse than the truth.

My guess is you got bit by dog.
someperson wrote:There's the general kiddy anime (dbz, etc.)
You must be watching the cut version. I admit DBZ has little in the way of creative story; alien comes, people get beat up, Goku beats up lacky, Goku gets beat up, Goku opens a can of whoop-ass. However some DBZ episodes were actually cut for being to violent for kids. The original has curse words, moonings, and plent of bird flipping.

DBZ focuses more on fights and less on jokes. Dragonball on the other hand was actually worse. It was basicaly one big perverted joke fest with some karate on the side. Some things they forgot to cut on TV, because no one who didn't know would see it. Both DBZ and Dragonball are better uncut.

I have to agree that Witch Hunter Robin was a little boring. I liked it anyway, but it seemed unfinished and in need of more action. Was it me or did some of the sceneray look like the game Parasite Eve.

LightningCountX is there any anime you do like?

my least favorite anime would have to be pokemon, digimon, and yu-gi-oh
the reason why i really dont like these well first off pokemon is liked to much by little kids and i hate kids shows(but yet i like kaileido star that anime was great). digimon has a good story but the last time i watched it at my friends house it bored the crap out of me. now yu-gay-ho is so damn stupid that really has a poor plot the first time i saw it i liked it but then it so fuckin boring and so i stoped watching it.

my top favs would have to be dbz, trigun, rahxephon, Excel saga, love hina, kaileido star, hows bout steel angel kurumi thats a good one good story though i think.

well anyways the reason why i like dbz is beacuse thats like the first anime i ever saw then i saw ranma 1/2 and i loved that, after that i saw a little bit of bubblegum crisis was good but not all that good. then love hina came into my life and i loved it so much that my teacher let me borrow some bootlegs didnt care if they were the real things as long as i got to watch that one.

then some time later i saw rahxephon and that one went on my top 10 list right away and so did trigun and even hellsing and im still yet to put kaileido star on my top 10 list whitch is i am going to when ever i get around to it. Now steel angel kurumi on the other hand is different its on my list but its on like the bottom part of my list so its not really my fav but i do like it as much as i like inuyasha. Inuyahsa is good but i can only stand so much of it at a time.

if you were to sit me down to watch 14 hours of anime i would do it cuz ive done it before, i just wont sit and watch witch hunter robin cause thats one hell of a boring anime and thats all ive got to say.

if any one would be so kind enough to suggest a good anime plz feel free to do cuz i want to see as many anime as possible, thank you 8)

when i watch an anime i expect alot out of it the things i expect out of an anime are is a good plot like these animes with, fighting unlike dbz whitch is like the master anime of more talk less action, and lots of powering up and shit like that. but besides the point dbz will always be my fav, but im like a fan that only watchs something once and i can get the whole story, with dbz im a fan like none other i think cuz i can basicly tell the whole story of dbz but not DB cuz i havent seen all the eps but GT i have, anime is like my fuckin life and i cant really live without anime and thats why i make music vids. so if you all wanna know the truth i dont really like bashing even kids anime cuz if its made by the japanese it might be stupid as hell but just think of what there doing of these kids here in the usa they inspire them to watch anime. You never they might one day hate poke/digi/mon and turn to real anime that makes more sense then those anime. well anyways im fuckin done for tonight if any one has a problem with my point of view im just speaking my mind about anime, and this is come out of the mouth an anime fan

If im not considerd anime fan then plz explain why?
if you like my point of view then good for you im not saying you made the right choice im just saying "good for you" well im out its like 11:20 and i have gay ass school 2 morrow

re: Cyborg 009

I'm noticing a lot of people here who are complaining about things about it without realizing a major fact:

The storyline for Cyborg 009 was originally cooked up in the 60s and has, in fact, been animated three times now (the US has only gotten the latest incarnation simply because, well, let's face it, as US markets show (kind of sadly sometimes) newer sells better)
It seems cheezy now, but back when it first came out in the 60s it was quite popular and, as I understand it, still is over in Japan.

Why is this? Perhaps the universal concept of unity seems to win big over there...maybe we're just too cynical for it, I dunno... (frankly, I view it like Metropolis...it's OK, once you get used to the different art style...but I digress)

Anyways, my votes:

Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories - It looks nice, and has a good soundtrack, yes...butin terms of story and characters, this one fell flat in a big way for me...Kou was a miserable whiner (and before anyone points out that Amuro was as well, keep this in mind: Amuro was drafted into combat, Kou enlisted of his own free will), Gato was essentially a mindless tool, Nina spent the better part of the first half of the series playing the stock action hero's romantic lead only differing near the second half with the rather poorly played plot twist, and overall, prettymuch 90% of the cast were primarily stock characters.
As for the story element: I can sum up my issues here in three major complaints:
1. Kou and Gato's rivalry...this is pretty far from Char vs Amuro type, Hell, this isn't even Isamu vs Guld type...best one can figure, the main reason Kou doesn't just hand over the Gundam to a more experienced pilot (besides that subconscious hope it'll give him an edge with Nina) is the fact Gato called him a rookie.
2. The ending - Nothing says quality finish to a series that's broken canon in a major way quite like saying 'Guess what guys? None of this ever happened'
3. The story in light of said ending:
A nuclear weapon being fired on the EF fleet and causing several thousands of deaths isn't something you can expect people to forget like that...but, apparently the writers thought so...

*whew*...sorry...been saving that one up for a while now...

Although, to be fair, the show had some pretty good unintended laughs...

Anyways...prob. will have more to add later

I just finished watching Vampire Hunter D: Special Edition. I have to say I hated that movie. The reason I hate it is similar to my reason for hating Ninja Ressurection. I partly hated Ninja Ressurection because I thought it would be like Ninja Scroll but mostly because It sucked. With Vampire Hunter D: Special Edition, I thought it might be similar to Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (A freakin' awesome movie).

The only things it had in common Bloodlust was the main character and vampires. The main character wasn't nearly as cool as he was in Bloodlust. Special Edition also kind of just plain out sucked. Its an older movie, but It still could have been better. The animation was not very good, and the story was pretty dumb. It also lacked good charaters in general. Everybody was stupid, even the main guy at times. It also felt like it didn't know what pace to move at. Sometimes it would move insanely slow and at others it would be on speed.

It wasn't unbearable like Ninja Ressurection, so I give it credit for that. I do not reccomend it to anybody. However, I do recomend Bloodlust. i'm so lonely.
I hate myself
I am sofa king we todd did.
