Relax, I was thinking of someone else. While we're talking about doing eva though, when do we get to see you redo it's closing in Dragon Halfs style?Scintilla wrote:Ummm...godix wrote:However many you want. Simple
Beavis and Butthead would say it either rocks or suxs.
It is that simple. So long as each video is awesome on its own, it should be fine. Its really a matter of what part or concept in a show you focus on.
Hell I saw a cool video made from one single episode of DBZ. And it was bad-ass. It wasn't even a episode with fights.

Ah, well, I guess I worried for nothing. Only 30% of my vids are of the same anime so I wouldn't call that making a career of it. But then, I did look at Ermac's profile and he used a variety of anime as well. What's the problem?
People make amvs with the anime they have, and often - with the anime they like. Not everyone has dozens of anime to choose from when he or she gets an urge to edit to a certain song or idea. That narrows the options and makes you focus on similar titles. Sure, certain anime are overused, but if that's all someone has, or the only thing a person gets ideas for, then that's what he's going to make vids for. And when you think about how long some anime are, and all the possible characters and stories there are in a single anime, the number of vids you could make skyrocket.
I hold that it's the song that limits videos more than the anime. Yes, you can do your own spin on a song and interpret it in an entirely original way, but I can say from experience that it tends to upset people if you don't do what they expect you to with a song - if you don't do what everyone else does with that song. Maybe if a person were to make all of his videos to a single song, or even similar songs by a single group - then it would be beating a dead horse. But not an anime.

I agree that it's the song that limits the videos. It's just that with some concepts so overused it makes it hard to look at vids from that anime in a good light again and it's entirely not the fault of the anime being in alot of videos, it the song being used over and over to the anime that creates the negative light. I'll use the cliched response just to help show the point. There are good DBZ vids out there but with all the overused DBZ concepts (avoids another boring and stupid Linkinball Z rant) I find it harder and harder to watch any DBZ video, even the good, original ones, and I know this effect happens to many many people on the org.Arigatomyna wrote:Ah, well, I guess I worried for nothing. System of a Down (could be an OS)
Yep .Pie Row Maniac wrote:The driving episode?
At Dragonball Arena. I thought it was pretty original to use a DBZ filler episode and make it so action packed.
Arigatomyna is very right audio is the most important.
People do expect certain things. But you just have to show them something new. How is to say they are right.
In addition, if you kill the sound quality no, matter how great the AMV, it loses all its presence.

I don't think you should even have to ask! Make all the same anime series AMVs you want! Eventually you'll just run out of footage anyway, but that's when you can move on to the next series you wanna do. Just as long as YOU like what you're doing, who cares what anybody else thinks? If they don't like it, they should just stick with their own AMVs and leave you alone. Are you happy with what you're doing? Do you like the finished product? If yes is the answer to both of these questions, then don't let stupid, mean, flaming people bother you..AT ALL..And that's my opinion. So have fun with your AMVs, and keep making 'em! =^_-_^=
P.S....I think I got a little riled up there...Sorry 'bout that ^^;

From what I can tell Ermacs most popular videos are all Eva which leads to the impression that he made a career out of one series even though he really didn't. I should also note that making a career out of one series is NOT always a bad thing, Ermac has made two out of my top three favorite Eva videos for example (Scintilla made the other one if anyone out there is keeping score or something). As long as each video is exploring something new instead of rehashing their last one I have no problem watching people pound out video after video from the same series.Arigatomyna wrote: But then, I did look at Ermac's profile and he used a variety of anime as well. I think anime is becoming mainstream enough this isn't the problem it used to be. Now a days most people have access to movie rental places, friends with different anime, or illegal downloads. I know I personally made one video that uses 23 animes and I only owned 6 of them at the time. Thank god for friends, hollywood video, and in at least one case the internet.Arigatomyna wrote:People make amvs with the anime they have, and often - with the anime they like. In addition to the song I also think the core idea is limiting. Lets face it, how many romantic love ballads or pure fight videos can be done before it requires more than a different song/anime to make it interesting? For example, many Naruto vids appear identical to the typical tired DBZ video for me because the basic idea is the same and changing the anime didn't freshen it up any.Arigatomyna wrote:I hold that it's the song that limits videos more than the anime.
