I have a problem. [downloading problem]

HI! I'm new to the site, so I don't have the opportunity to actually download any AMVs yet. So I found the AMV that I was looking for (The Lion King's "I just Can't Wait to be King" for one of the Evangelions) and I clicked the local button to try and watch the whole thing (only saw part of it at SakuraCon) and my comp couldn't play it, it had trouble downloading it to Window's Media Player.

So my question is, what is happening and how can I fix it for I can actually watch the whole video?

New members have a 2 week waiting period before they are allowed to download videos that are hosted locally. You may still download any videos that have "Direct" or "indirect" download links. You can bypass the waiting people for local videos by making a small donation to the site (even as little as 5 bucks!). The local download cost the site thousands of dollars, which is funded entirely by user donations. So without donations, there would be no local downloads, period. But if you choose not to donate, just search for videos on direct or inderect links for the time being, and just have a bit of patience, and the 2 weeks will be over in no time.

Meh, you say "local" instead of "direct" and made me go off on a whole different thing :p

If you are trying to download from the direct link, then simply left-click on the link, and a window should pop up asking you whether you wish to save the file or open it. Choose to save it. After the download completes, you should be able to view the video assuming you have the proper decoding software installed. If the video properly downloads but just wont play, try installing the latest version of ffdshow from here: http://athos.leffe.dnsalias.com/

Thanks for the help, but I found the video again and it is a direct link that I clicked before and that's all I can click now.

I added the link because at the bottom of the box where the link to get the video is, there is that clause that says server can't be found, that's bad, right?
