Give it up

Post by HeavyMetal » Thu Jun 10, 2004 11:39 pm

Give up Dude.

Story requires conflict. Depth takes emotion.

Try to worry about what you think, not what others think to include your parents.

(Course that's a paradox to a degree. Because then you would not care about the above statement. :? ...I think too much.)

Basic rule of humanity: People fear what they don't understand. This is the first thing you'll have to overcome.
Secondly, There are already a lot of negative viewpoints expressed towards anime. Like such:

This is going to come as a shock to you all, but... I stopped living with my parents BEFORE I was 18, instead of BEFORE 28...

I can do what i want, when i want. I can sit in front of the computer, naked, as i type this. If I was so inclined.

If your dad doesn't like too much violence/sexual content/language then...don't show them anime AT ALL!

But like Cloud said Speed Racer would be kinda good.

Yeah, thanks for the off topic post, Nestorath. I'm sure somebody out there cares.

The thread was about what anime to show a parent to change their mind about anime, it doesn't specifically have anything to do with what someone can or can't do.

the correlation is there: With maturity comes the ability to exist without the stigma of living under someone else's jurisdiction.

In the anime genre, there's something for everyone. All you have to do is look.

Agreed. From perverts to conservatists. From Sci/fi fantasy to everyday stuff. There's something for everyone.

I definetly agree with the statement. But that's still not what the thread was about. It's "What to show your parents" and it's not "what can I watch if my parents are like this?" Trying to get your parents into anime, not trying to exist under anyone's stigma.
