You know, I'll go ahead and give you that, right there.

Check out ThatGuy1079's post, 3/4 down the page. To paraphrase:
Someone cooler that you wrote:I can't think of much more, except that I remember when i first started watching anime, I thought it was way cool, because the villains were more badass and psychotic... even though they seemed to have lost, the endings were typically ambigious, leaving the 'real' conclusion to be determined by the watcher. Was the victory really a victory?
No one can tell why or how or whatever, they're left hanging. Your typical complacent person will complain and rant and rave and feel 'disappointed'; while on the other hand, someone with a broader perspective will take the information and draw his own conclusions.
A level of maturity is expressed in anime that isn't expressed in american media. But, then again, we don't have tentacle rape.

Well you win some, you lose some.

At least nobody makes you watch what you don't like. So I think it is worth it.

WRONG!

*ahem*

1. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true.
2. The greatest harm can result from the best intentions.
3. Passion rules reason.
4. There is magic in forgiveness -the magic to heal! In the forgiveness you grant, and more so in the forgiveness you receive.
5. Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie.
6. The only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason.
7. Life is the future, not the past
8. Deserve victory.

There. Now you know the depth of your error. Try not to let that happen again, huh? [/smarmy]

As to using anime as an escape mechanism, as opposed to drugs, alcohol, etc.

Your stereotypical otaku is fat, sweaty, pimply, grossly immature, and mentally unstable. He also has emotional issues and a lot of insecurity. And a raging case of burning virginity.

Again, this is a stereotype. But I see hundreds of these fools every day; they populate the campus I'm working at. (not a student, a Network administrator) I can see that these people are NOT healthy. They're repulsive. Disgusting. revolting. I've been around alcoholics and drug users a lot more than otakus, I happen to think that the stoners and beer-bingers are far better than the typical otaku, they at least know how to have fun, rather than play ren-ai games, or argue sub vs. dub.

The idea is to not make any one thing the center of your life. I take it to the next level; the center of my life is me. Everything else is... peripherals.

PAY ATTENTION

I've read the book. Do you really think I would make such a mistake?

I was saying it was from the book Wizard's First Rule not that it was wizard's first rule.

Read carefully before you shoot your mouth off.

Try not to let it happen again.

(Damn nerds live their life to find a mistake wether it exists or not.)

You know even though i already left a post here i have another anime that basicly changed me life. the one that really did it was Fushigi Yuugi (the Mysterious play). During my time watching this good anime it helped me see that love can be the most powerfull thing in the world. and when i saw the bond between Tamahome and Miaka i knew right then and there even if your under a curse that makes you forget who you love power of love will always be able to break that curse. so you see thats how this anime changed my life. :D :D

If it has, you need to get laid. God, how fucking desperate are you dumb shits?

Anime is to Japan what Hollywood is to america. Pointless entertainment. If I were to ask, "Has any Hollywood flick ever changed your life?" you'd all scream, douse me with holy water, and try to claw my eyes out.

But the principle is the same, children. It's entertainment. This is an unhealthy obsession we're dealing with here. AMV's? a hobby. Anime? Like watching a drama on TV. you eat your snack, you laugh, you cry, fart, masturbate, whatever. When it's over, you shut it off and go back to the real world.
Now what the heck is your friggin problem dude? Is a peice of your brain missing? Were we all manufactured in a factory? Were we born to think like you??? Huh?

Some of us have learned real life lessons from anime. If you can't respect some peoples feelings tward anime, why don't you just get out of here!?

And getting laid only changes your life as a parent you idiot  . Why don't you join the real world?!
