O.o - that went off topic really quick!
Thanks for that *little* Makai summary, - it's all so clear now... Yes, it really sucks when you can't understand you're fav. anime...but when you're desperate to watch the show NOW (...and for free...) and not years later when the DVDs come out - I can deal, considering the fact that I've watched every episode (since ep. 60) subtitled like this:
They weren't ALL bleached like that, but that's generally how they were subbed ^__^;

The best movie to show you what an addiction can do to a person is "Requiem for a Dream". While none of the addictions covered in that movie are drinking, they do show how an addiction can ruin your life. Sorry for keeping this off topic.Wheee_It's_Me! wrote: Number 8, ANYTHING not done in moderation is an addiction. Whether it's going to the movie theater EVERY day of the week or getting drunk EVERY day of the week, they are no different, either way you have an addiction.
To bring it back on topic, I think i have seen those particular subs, *inverse*. They're not too bad but they can be annoying. drinking

I've seen worse quality by far, but damn the subs look like something from MST3K.
Arigatomyna, people get all bitchy about repeats and old topics so its kinda screwed either way.
Wheee_It's_Me the DARE program is funny. Everyone was in it at school, including people I later knew to be stoners.
Number 2 was a little over estimated. The name eludes me at the moment, but there is a term in psychology that refers to a person's natural inclincation to over estimate the agreeance of others with themselves.
Good point about moderation, Socrates said something similar about balancing the need for socialization and the need for control.
But Yusuke's character really doesn't need much developement. He isn't exactly as complex as say Hiei. If you keep watching you can see change, it just doesn't come right out and say it.
I like party drinkers though. They are funny as long your not drinking. The drinkers I know tend to go Jackass and Viva La Bam after a while.
I thought Alice in Wonderland was a good look at addiction.
The problem with addiction is that it makes you happy doing nothing....then it kills you. Its happiness that won't last to next day.

Um, I'm new...but I really like YuYuHakusho.
I like Karasu. *shrugs* I just do. And Hiei.
Out of curiosity, has anyone seen Fruits Basket? (This is on topic, I promise!)
Same voices as YuYuHakusho, which means Sakyo's voice is a main character, Kurama sings and is a general loon, and you can actually understand Jin!
Um, yeah. I'll leave now.

I remember a few subs that confused me immensly. They would constantly call Hiei Kurama and Kurama Hiei. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but Hiei is the short guy with black hair and a third eye, and Kurama is the Red-haired plant user that is a bit effeminate.
Its was funny though and sometimes you would hear them say Hiei-actually hear the name spoken-and yuo would see Kurama's name pop up on screen. Oh well it was funny. I'm so lonley.

Yo, *inverse*, I know it's a bit late in the topic but, I just wanted to say that I really like your AMV's. Maybe because most of them have Kurama in them! Hee Hee (fangirl giggle). Anyway, to get back on topic, the fansub pics are really funny because they don't make any sense.

Well, like said before, im watching it on CN because its free and i wont have to wait some time to get dvd's blah blah blah. But i dont really like it. Its like DBZ.... someone strong comes and kicks the crap out of everyone then Yuske fights him gets fucked up, then when he's almost dead, he gets strenth out of his ass (because he supposedly didnt have any more strenth a second ago) and kills the bad guy.
Anyways my fav Kurama.... why, because everyone else that i know likes Yuske or Hiei.

YYH Merits
DVDs actually come out before they get aired. Too bad money doesn't too.
CN has to take time to cut parts out and go over words like ass. Heaven forbid a show based on ass kicking use the word ass.
I think YYH has a more consistent story with a greater amount of depth than DBZ. Thats coming from someone who likes DBZ.
There is a more emotional aspect, and under dog story, a whole cast of anit-heros, and little in the way of dramatic lectures, just one liner time to die scum statements.
The pattern of super charged martial arts is really the only similarity. Most fight shows go that way including Rocky I-infinity.
I think all the characters have their merits.
Yusuke (BAMF with a heart of gold)
Kuwabara (Modern Samurai)
Kurama (Romantic graceful knight)
Hiei (Iron willed Warrior)
