You mean, "are there any features in Pro that were not in previous versions?". Not having used previoud versions, I don't personally know. However, it's safe to assume yes.

actually i meant exactly what i wrote
if adobe started their new premeir from scratch it might miss some futures of older versions.

Oops! I completely forgot about Windows 2000! I don't know much about it (I only used it for about 10 minutes at a college library once), but I've been using ME for about 2 years now and its finaly becoming a pain for even me. When I was still using my 200MHZ machine up until a month ago (yes, sad, I know) ME ran flawlessly...yes, it was perfect on that old PC for some reason...

Now that I've gotten a better system, Windows ME is constantly doing weird things...the one that bugs me the most is random freezing and my internet runs horribly. From what you've told me about Linux I'd rather stay away from it then (I don't like complicated computer nerd stuff). I hate the Mac with a passion...its worse than Windows ME in all my experiences.

The only other OS I have is Windows 98, but its a pain because alot of my stuff won't work with anything less than Windows 98SE, and the drivers for most of my hardware don't have Windows 98 versions. :/

Premiere Pro is a completely different program. Adobe started over from scratch, because the original Premiere was so buggy and hacked up that they couldn't do anything with it.

I use PP and i love it.

ok, i use XP pro on all my editng system.

I have a copy of Dynabolic Linux thats a self boot on cdrom i mess with occasionally.

I dont mess with Mac OS cause PP wont run on it. so i never had a need to.

BTW, the OS in and of itself has very little to do with the stability of your system. HOW you installed it, HOW you set it up, WHAT OTHER software and hardware you installed, HOW you installed that junk, AND the integrity of the components is what really defines the stability of your system. I guarentee that no matter what OS I install on one of my machines, it's gonna be stable, because I'm the one who installed it and I don't use shit rate bargain hardware like the kind of junk you find in box pee cee's like Dells, Gateways, etc.

No, that's not the case. The OS has a lot to so with system stability. Let me put it this way: if you installed Win95 on one of those bleeding edge systems, without patching, how much uptime do you really think you would get?

Did you even READ my post? Updates, patches, etc, etc...that ALL has to do with the setup of the Operating System. My point was that if you just do a vanilla install (of anything really), yeah, yer probably gonna have problems (espeically with drivers).

Ugh Id honestly take a bullet in the head than use Linux again, I personally cant use it because my isp isnt compatible with it (THANK GOD!!!)

So i use Win XP Pro, Hey I have no problems using Linux... just dont tell me to install anything thats where the problems start unless of course you are a computer geek to the absolute max!

Ill stick with Windows untill a better gui os comes out im looking into Longhorn, Windows newest os (should be released some time soon).
