Vegas5+DVD Architect
PhotoshopCS
IllustratorCS (not often)
Virtualdub
The usual suspects for ripping from DVD.
I have after Effects 6 also, still trying to learn it though.
As for a recommendation, I would choose Vegas5. The interface is so much more userfriendly, I used to use Premiere until Adobe decided that they my 1G Athlon Thunderbird wasn't good enough. After adjusting to it I am finding I am more productive and creative with Vegas, your mileage may vary. If you want to Author DVDs, DVD Architect has been a better experience for me than Adobe Encore.
