What got you into anime?!
What got you into anime?! Simple enough right
For me I was a really big RPG fan thanks to my friends Mario RPG and Final Fantasy VII. As I played them I noticed some anime sceens in them (not computer animated sceens obviously) regular anime sceens. I didn't really care at first, but I began to slowy get out of RPGs (probably because I beat 6 over the summer and a total of 50 in five years! Got into it at fourteen and I am ninteen now. Now being 7-17-04).
Anyway I was really sick of the stories (a group of young kids saves the world. Bottom line story just done differnently each time). So I remembered some of the anime cut scenes and a moive Akira I saw a long time ago (when I first saw it I didn't get it). So I looked into.
I only got hentai first because I never watched movies and thought it rediculous to buy a $20 DVD for about 2 hours when some great RPGs are $20 for 60 hours of play. But I slowly came off, the first anime series I got was steel angel kurimi (becasue that's partly hentai), and it was pretty good (the first season anyway). Then I got into Berserk, because I had the game on dreamcast, but it not having been all released here I onyl watched the first four dvds of it and didn't turly realize yet what a great series it was. Then I saw all of Neon Genesis Evangelion which really blew me away and was worth my $140 Then I watched Akira again, and I eventually got into anime so much that I have over 100 dvds now, and I saved the dieing anime club at my school which now it has become so popular there are two anime clubs. One is anime the other manga. Well that's how I got into it. Your turn!
Oh, and if you care I am still slightly into RPGs, but barly. I am playing Dragon Warrior II right now for NES. I also worte an RPG magazine which is 52 pages long (beat the class record), and I got 400/400 on it. If you care !

As much as I hate to admitt it, DBZ. I had made up my mind a while back (3 years ago-ish) that anime was stupid. Then my little sister dared me to watch DBZ.
I was completely taken by the action (but after watching the dub for a while longer I became a bit tired of it and almost went back to my old anime hating ways).
After becoming slightly interested in anime, I happened to come across a Bebop marathon while channel surfing. Being bored, I stopped button pushing and watched.
DBZ started it, Bebop got me hooked.
