This video is far from incredible. I watched it and felt...nothing. I mean, NOTHING. And it wasn't just the song, the whole video, while being kinda neat on a technical level was completely devoid of any real emotional conveyance. It was like, gee, how many random anime characters can you cram into one lil window and have them lip synched?
And even on the technical front it wasn't really that incredible. You had a few parts with some head motion lip synching and that was really cool, but all the overlay stuff was a bit over the top. And not one of the effects was done to really add anything. It's like you were doing effects just to do them, not because you had some REAL purpose behind them. After about a minute thirty in I was already bored by the whole thing.
I'm sure all the n00b jobs are easily impressed by your use of the default fire effect and your ability to operate the lasso select tool in yer lil graphics proggie, however to anyone with real knowledge in the area, most of your cuts are sloppy, either too blurred or too jagged and the whole background band pass technique was old by the time it was being used in anime intros like Canvas and Hoshizora Planet.
If you wanna impress someone like me, I would suggest you try doing something that you didn't just rip off of 2003 esque anime openings.

Even a good editor like you, zarxrax liked it i'm glad. i don't know what are japanese anime MADs, but the inspiration came more while i heard the song.
That is funny when i read different forums (this one but particurlarly others even if i don't post there)... it is the reaction about this video, some people liked it and congratulates me , others hated it and flamed me, saying that video is a shame ... but finally, when i count there is a large majority of good editors that liked it.
That is the best award for me, to be appreciated by people that really know AMVs, and finally i allow less attention to those "unknows" people's comment that seemed to be very angry about me, and i don't know why .. i didn't do nothing bad to them, just did a video
thank you guys

Making something that's appealing to the masses is usually a bad thing when it comes to making AMVs. I find that the most popular videos are usually only popular for the fact that they over do it on the effects. Basically they're just like effects candy with no real content. A REALLY GOOD AMV will affect people on a personal level and for very personal reasons. And for the most part, no, it probably won't have mass appeal unless you just go for a really generic theme. It's all about what you're going for, if it's a popularity contest you're trying to win...hey, you got it man, take it to town and ride the ass slurp express. But like I said, your video is SERIOUSLY lacking in the emotional content. In 2 or 3 years people will probably look back on your video and just laugh.istiv wrote: That is funny when i read different forums (this one but particurlarly others even if i don't post there)... it is the reaction about this video, some people liked it and congratulates me , others hated it and flamed me, saying that video is a shame ... but finally, when i count there is a large majority of good editors that liked it.
Unknowns? Last I checked I had made a few pretty good AMVs, certainly nothing that I would call my "best" work yet, but uh: www.backwater-productions.net *shrugs*That is the best award for me, to be appreciated by people that really know AMVs, and finally i allow less attention to those "unknows" people's comment that seemed to be very angry about me, and i don't know why .. i didn't do nothing bad to them, just did a video
And if I may add, you seem to be kind of um...emotional. It's like you're not even really READING the responses you're getting. It's like you just skim them for their content. If they're praising you then you get all excited and practically start piddling yourself. If they're negative you act like your entire world just came to an end cause OMG WTF someone didn't like my video?!
Seriously, get over yourself. Your attitude, more than anything, is what I think makes you a bad AMV editor.
