Shoujocon 2002 Party!!

Well my video is rather... 'adult' / Yaoi. Machine called it highly disturbing, when he watched it for the Mindwarp contest. It's defently shoujo, just maybe not PG-13.

My other video I entered is borderline Shoujo. So I don't know if it will make it or not. It's a Shonen anime I used, but the theme of the video is the Shoujo/love story. However it still has a bunch of Shonen action.

If that's the case, then you shouldn't have a problem. The rules state that you can use shounen, as long as it presents some kind of love or shoujo-centered theme.

Here's my problem: my video uses a shoujo anime, but it focuses on a male character. I hope that's OK...

I think you're video will be fine... I'm trying to think about a Shoujo series that has a male lead.... But something like a video focused on Tuxedo Mask or such would deffently be Shoujo. Oh... Marmalade Boy... That's about Miki and Yuu, it's from Miki's point of view, but an AMV done to just Yuu would be just as well. I don't think you're video will have a problem. It may do even better with the large number of fan girls in the room.

Meri: I definitely think your video will be ok. What do girls like to see at a con based on shoujo anime/manga? Bishounen of course. So, since your video is based around a bishounen character then you should have no worries about getting into the contest. Infact, I think it'll increase your chances of winning.

Shoujocon is SO confusing. Their guidelines for what makes a Shoujo video last year were... lacking. But judging by what won last year, I don't think there's anything to worry about.

I'm just upset that they didn't want my Fight Club/Dragonball Z video. I mean, Fight Club? It's sort of about the relationship between two guys, right? Kinda Yaoi there I think. Maybe... And Dragonball Z? Come on. That's SO shoujo. But... They'll probably like yours.

Also, I have heard that the contest is indeed Friday night, but I don't have a time. Our AMV panel should be Saturday morning/afternoon, but I also don't have confirmation of that. *sigh*

I've never been to a con......I've barely left the house....I need a life.

But besides that I want to mainly go to this con hell any con to get piles of CD's or VCD's or creators stuff.

I love it!!!!

Hey all. Well, I'm working at the con and they just accounced the draft schedual. It'll most likely change, but with less than 2 weeks to go, I doubt it'll be that drastically.
Most of you guessed right. The MV contest is Friday from 7-9 pm. That's as of right now. If anything changes, I'll keep you posted. Well, good luck for everone who entered!

Thanks for the info.

I fly into JFK, arriving apx. 3:15pm. I am hoping to make it to the hotel by 6pm, but that extra hour of cushion will be very nice.

I wonder if they will be showing my video(s) or not.

Yay! Thanks for the info! That helps a lot. Two hours, huh? Did they get enough entries for that whole time? Last year there was only about 45 minutes.

I'm psyched. Hopefully I'll see a bunch of you there!

I just wish I knew when my panels were...

And where the party is!

Well, you're. That's only the time slot. I'm sure the MV isn't going to take up the whole two hours, especially since it's in the same slot as the opening ceremonies. Yeah, confusing. ^^
Anyway, Scott, what panels do you want times for? I could check em out for you. K
On another note, I'll see if I can get some hours during the MV contest so I can see you guys there.
