Do you Dub or Sub?

A freind told me just after posting this that it would start a war. That was never my intent. I was simply curious as to how many of us watch subs or dubs.
I like dubs better because I like the english voices. When done right they have a lot of power in them. Sure the lip synching is never right on but I look past that.
I have trouble with subs because I can't seem to keep up with them. I just don't read fast enough. I like the Japanese voices though. I have a lot of J-Pop and consider most of it to be better than the English music I have.
I'm sorry I brought this up and perhaps it would be best if we stop the thread here.

... i only made a comment, nothing more. i don't care to sue you...and if ya wanna hear peoples opionions you can just do a forum search, resurrecting threads is bettter than rpeating IMO, but when it comes down to it, i dont really care (it was a very relxes comment..).The_Digital_Phoenix wrote:I reserve the right to post repeat threads when I'm bored.BaHaRa wrote:hmm this is like th 100th thread like this
'Sides, some people here may not have been around for the hundreds of other times this was brought up.
But really I was just bored off my ass. So sue me.

I agree completely with MistyCaldwell ((sorry if I spelled that wrong..))... dubs and subs are both good and I'll never understand people who watch only one or the other.. that kind of narrow-mindedness makes you miss out on a lot of good things...
I like to watch both the dub and sub so that I can see what both are like - but I'm an artist and I LOVE to just watch the animation, so often I'll watch the dub just because the subtitles are annoying and get in the way of the gorgeous artwork..

-Naw, don't be sorry. M'self, I always like to see different peoples opinions on this. However, I think it would be a good idea to make this thread a sticky so people can come here to see who prefers what whenever they want.The_Digital_Phoenix wrote:I'm sorry I brought this up and perhaps it would be best if we stop the thread here.
Me, I generally prefer subs. Usually, the English voice actors just simply don't carry the same emotional quality and depth of performance as the Japanese ones. Plus, I love to listen to Japanese speech (I plan to start taking classes in Japanese next spring because the language interests me so much).
Although, I am not one of the people that Misty described as "one or the other". There are some dubs I find that I can tolerate if necessary (Trigun), and two in particular that strike me as being quite good (Cowboy Bebop and Hellsing, although I have only seen Disc 1 of Hellsing. I actually find that I prefer to watch the English dub of Cowboy Bebop. It's just an incredible performance on the part of the VAs).
So, my position is that I prefer subs 99% of the time, but I am willing to give a dub a fair chance.
Although, there will always be some dubs that make me want to just tear my ears off to avoid listening to them (Saber Marionette J and Neon Genesis Evangelion.)
