Ryu (or Rio, dubbed) in Shaman King swings multiple ways, and I've only seen bits of Kyou Kara Maou (due to my computer's inherent crappiness), but one of the characters in there is gay as well. On the lesbian side of things, in Azumanga Daioh Kaorin has a crush on Sakaki (I think those are their names, but I suck at remembering those things, so if I'm wrong I apologize). *shrug* Pretty much any show you watch you'll see at least one--well, for the lack of a better term, one "queer" (and I use that in the purely academic sense--it covers pretty much every sex/gender preference on the spectrum).

Naraku's not, no--keep in mind that Onigumo had a crush on Kikyo. A couple of the villains have been at least transgendered, though--I forget the name of the groups, but one of the enemies in the Mt. Hakureizan arc (starting around ep 90) was transgendered, if nothing else. Also, around ep 130 or so the villains are named after the ones in the Saiyuki legend (if that's the right name--Fushigi Yuugi got its gods' names from the same source). Suzaku was gay. Comparing that Suzaku to the FY Suzaku--it creeped me out. I wouldn't use either of those Inu Yasha villains as positive examples of homosexuality, unless you think that statements like "I'll be careful to preserve your beautiful skin when I cut you out of it" are positive. Stick with stuff like Gravitation for blatent yaoi-ness, or Azumanga Daioh or ROD TV for implicit homosexuality.

Yeah--though when we first meet him he wants to marry the prince, he's still a bad example because
Spoiler wrote:Later on he reveals that the reason he starts cross-dressing is because he used it as a coping method to deal with his sister's death--if he became her, then she wouldn't really be dead. Once he reveals this, he stops cross-dressing and even cuts his hair.

Kris Christopher from Battlew Athletes is openly lesbian. She's a riot too, cause unlike most gay/lesbian anime characters she's REALLY open about it. I especially like the parts where she boldy claims that she and Akari are like destined lovers and Akari just starts freaking out. Or the one scene in which Kris kisses Akari out on the field and everyone is just in shock over the whole thing.
It's really kind of endearing in that series cause in a way Akari kinda grows to understand her love and although it's never made definitevly clear, but it seems that Akari loves her back just as much, but isn't really sure about her feelings as far as girl/girl relationships.
Ermac's "Lonely Miracle" has a real good part in the middle that kinda shows their relationship a lil.
Another show thats ~sorta~ about gay relationships is I, My, Me, Strawberry eggs. Not so much from the teachers point of view, but from the one short girl whose in love with "her" (can't recall her name off the top of my head).
A good video for that series is "All The Things Hibiki Said"...can't recall the author...hrmmm, maybe my memory is going. o_O

That has gotta be the worst-kept secret of the CLAMP universe Just check out the clothes Subaru wears in Tokyo Babylon. That red jacket and hat, and those skintight shiny leather pants... When you see his picture in X with his sis and Seishiro, its very difficult at first to determine his gender, lol.angelx03 wrote:Subaru/Seishiro - Tokyo Babylon/ X TV series
Kamui and one of his school friends in the X manga have a very ... close ... relationship... ah WTF am I saying, he's really friggin close to like EVERY male character in the stories. Its got heavy undertones of yaoi all through it.

Three others that got missed:
-Mash from Macross II: Lovers Again (it's never stated, but the guy's...well...flaming enough it's a safe bet)
-Fatora from El Hazard: The Magnificent World
and
-Alliele also from El Hazard (...it's pretty hard to argue her not being gay...Lord knows she comes on to prettymuch any woman in a five-mile radius)
Also, while not officially gay, they make ya wonder:
-M'Quve from Mobile Suit Gundam (On one hand, he claims all his actions are for Kycillia Zabi...on the other...well...between his everyday attire, his affinity for antiques, and his custom Gouf design...well...)

Might not be...but he definitely makes ya wonder
