AMVs - Why we make them.....

Its not so much as WHY we make them, but its WHO we make them for.

Sure, we all make them for ourselves, thats a given. But take a look around the community and see how we react to certain videos. Sometimes it seems like we create them in a kind of "look at meeee!" fashion. And for some people, when that fails to make that impression, they get upset. Thats why I question why some people make these videos.

For some reason I just have a tough time believing that we all make them strictly out of it being a hobby and only for ourselves as if others opinions do not matter. I've seen too many flames and reactions to believe that...

I make them cause anime looks much better made to music than it really is...and for fangirls.

I see your point.

Of course its human nature to want to be respected or impress someone else you respect with your skills.

I make AMVs because I love seeing them for together into a beautiful work of art.

it's my creative outlet.

but also, I love to show them off. I love hearing feedback from other people in the community telling me what they thought of it.

Alot of editors do this. And of course when people dont give them the reaction they had hoped, they get a little upset; since they have spent so much time and effort into what they think is a great creation.
