How many opinions would you be happy with?

Post by Rurouni Wolfpac » Thu Aug 05, 2004 7:26 pm

When making a video you make it for the rest of the world to enjoy. But I'm sure that a lot of you like to receive opinion for your work. Well I'm wondering, how many opinions does it take to make you guys happy? So if you got 3 opinions for a video then would you be happy or would you expect more?

Depends on the amount of given time. If I have a video uploaded for a year and it gets no ops, I'm disappointed. However there right there might tell me that I need to improve.

Enough to make me not feel the need to create a banner asking for one

One incredibly long op makes me happy, even if it is mostly pointing out the bad parts and what not. The fact that a video could compell someone to type out a tremendously long op would be satisfying enough to me.. o.O

It depends, really. Some of my vids I'd be fine without ops at all since I made them for myself and am not really interested in them outside the context, others I just wonder what others might think about... but it's always nice to get ops anyway. 5-6 will usually cover some good common ground and alternative angles.

Then of course there's my 'The Wasteland' video. I'll never get enough ops on that one, as everyone always has different views on it. Which in itself is fascinating to read (thanks to all 20+ of you who've shared feedback! I know who you are, and if I haven't responded yet... I will soon).
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I don't really care.

I care more about video hits though and I'm satisfied with mine. : 8)

Basically, whenever I can get a good idea of what people think overall about the video. That's something that's different for each video, for many reasons. But strictly in number terms, I'd say somewhere over seven would be ideal, as that's the number you need in order to be considered for the top 10% list. More realistically though, I'm usually pretty happy with 3 or 4.

how do you define 'happy'? each opinion brings happiness, some more than others.

it's like asking, if i kept giving you dollar bills, how many until you were rich? it's a relative term and there's no limit to how happy you can be.
