Only the Best

I'm in the process of assembling a collection of what I feel to be the best AMVs and creating a DVD out of them. I'd like your help in locating the best of them.

To head off any questions or concerns, this collection will *not* be sold for profit. If I have time once I finish, I'd be happy to make copies for people at the cost of the DVD blank and the shipping, but this is not any sort of business venture. This is purely for my own enjoyment, and so I have a convenient way to introduce other people to the best of AMVs.

So here's specifically what I'm looking for. I've assembled a good list to begin with (including the likes of Euphoria, Tainted Donuts, Odorikuruu, etc), and I've already viewed and considered everything that was available from the top 40 or so of the 10% list. There's a lot of other excellent videos I'm sure I'm missing however, and would like some pointers to them.
I'd also like to know why you think the video is worthy of this. Does it make you laugh until you feel sick? Weep with sorrow? Do you feel like putting it on an endless loop on your monitor? Do you have to reattach your jaw after every viewing? Are women more attracted to you after you've watched it?
The bar is set quite high.

The videos will be presented as close to their original format as possible. I plan on removing any introduction and closing credits. These credit would be presented alongside the video in the menu, so all the information would be preserved. I also plan on perhaps adding some extra information on the video, such as awards or creator comments if there's space.

Ideas are appreciated.

Anything "best" is a matter of "taste", really. As you said, this is simply for your own enjoyment so given what you might consider the best amvs, someone else may have a different opinion on it. I'm certain I would.

However, to help you out, I do have a few videos I'll point out to you (other than mine

of course). Though I wouldn't know their position in the top 10%, these are videos I simply think are exceptional and deserving of being included. Ultimately, that choice will be yours.

I'll dig them out tonight and post what I find.

Like Rubyeye said, this is all a matter of personal taste. Being a crappy editor, my tastes would probably suck in a likewise manner, but if you're taking suggestions anyway, it can't hurt to put in my two cents.

If you've already taken a look at the 10%, you've already seen my #1 recommendation: SHELLSHOCK.

Apart from that, I'd suggest you check out Hot-Blooded Nindo (the best Rock Lee profile I've ever seen), SOUL GLO (the most hilarious comedy vid I'll ever see), Gentrification (the coolest mindless action video I've seen), and INSERT COIN (just because I'm an SNK fanboy, and an impressive amount of effort went into this).

My comments.. Although I don't want to sound overly arrogant I will say I'm confident in my product.

And honestly, wether I feel I belong on your DVD doesn't really matter. I can tell you countless reasons why it should. but if it just isn't your taste.... anything I could have possibly said will have been pointless. So I ask you to Check out my video and Decide for yourself.

Thank you for the replies so far. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Quite a few of what you've listed was already on the list, so it helps validate those choices, but there's a couple here I haven't seen and will need to check out.
While this is all largely subjective, and it is my preferences that will rule in the end, I'm willing to look beyond them for the sake of this. Perhaps it's another DBZ video set to Linkin Park which triggers my gut instinct to flee in terror, but if it's the best damn piece of action editing, it's worthy.

dang i'm so forgetful half my post are double post, anyway just wanted to ask if the iso/image format or VIDEO_TS folder will be available to download off of bit torrent or somthin? for those of us that can burn our own dvds? if you want i can maybe even get a tracker running and make the torrent file.
