Fools, all of you! Your assuming the point of bumpers is to "give information" or something. But the real purpose is to annoy people. That's why I put mine right in the middle and have a really obnoxious font that flashes out of synch with the music and it doesn't have a title it just insults the viewers mother.

As far as I'm concerned as long as they are not to long it's all good. The best bumpers have a still image that fits the mood of the video (think "Fallen Angel".)

You have to remember that AMVs do just float around on KaZaA
KaZaA? Who'd ever thouch that?! I've downloaded most of my AMV's with Direct Connect++. And I only share AMV's at DC++. (For those who doesn't know anything about any DC client. You have to share something, mostly, to enter the hubs so you can download).

Hah, I was going to mention that I've seen a video that had the studio name right in the middle of it, and the website hosting. It was like getting a pop up ad almost. The video sucked ba- <ahem> badly, so I don't remember the name of it.

I say, keep your bumper short. If you are going to have one, or two then don't make them all clashy with the video, like having a 12 second musical spot using a song and the same anime that you have in the video, it's like watching one short sucky video with a bunch of titles in it, and them a longer video while you try to forget about it.

Keep them short, and to the point, as long as you can read it, good enough.

It all depends on the video..Some need a good lead in..some don't. I usually try to put a bumper with the name of the vid at the begining..and the rest of info (anime..song..ect) at the end. Truth be told..I sometimes have more fun making the bumpers than I do the actual video (my personal favorites being the intro for Kingdom Bebop, Abracadabra, and I Found Love)

To me credits don't mean shit. It's only the actual video. The only thing that matters is that you have the text "Made by, Edited by...". Everything else concerning the credits is irrelevant.

A short studio intro separated by at least 1 or 2 seconds of black is OK at the beginning. At the end, you have your source footage credits (audio and video) and "edited by" credit at the end, with any additional thanks added (again separated by at least 1 or 2 seconds of black).

Whatever you do, DO NOT HARD-TITLE YOUR VIDEO INFO AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR VIDEO. People do tend to frown upon this, especially those that put together contests.

Also, be consistent from video to video. More or less keep the look of your (brief) credits similar from video to video.

A short studio intro
yeah i definatly agree with that but it has to be a good short studio intro that is really easy to remeber, cause that is the first impression and your first insight about how good this AMV is going to be. and it definatly has to be short long intros are good the first time but if you wanna watch the amv again it just not all to that fun to see an intro.
