You got to be kidding me...right?
Have you even seen the original japanese SM anime?
The fact that Michiru and Haruka are both women and a couple; that says something.
Something being: They are FREAKING lesbians.
That's one lesbian couple down, a few more to go.
Like in the Rose of Versailles (hope that's the name).
Anyone remember that manga of olden?
So there are real documented lesbian women-couples-undertones.
See Otohiko, no sarcasm.

may be you want them to be lesbians? your overactive imagenation does not prove that thay are lesbians. did thay ever say "we are lesbians"? no! do you have any lesbian related activities screenshots to prove that thay are lesbians? no! all you got is hear-say. most people here know very little about anime and the culture it comes from. so it is natural that you mistake the display of friendship as some act of lesbianism. there is still no solid proof of any lesbianism in anime.

Can I post a link to Clara's forum here at least?

If you want some proof then just watch steel angel kurumi, and if you say there are no lesbians in that one, then I don't know what to say except go look for some hentai!The_Collection wrote:Kajino Rei wrote:The_Collection:

???
The_Collection, I have to be honest I thought you were being sarcastic in your original post at first.
You might be harder pressed to find a completely straight girl in anime.
Alright here's the deal. Artists are often eccentric pervs. You can find proof of this from Rock Stars to painters long dead.
I've seen a lot of diehard Sailormoon fan girls defend to the death the idea that no such thing exists in Sailormoon.
If you have seen any of the Japanese version or read some of it you know that the thoughts of these fans are truly the wishful thinking. (Hell its pretty damn obvious in the edited English version too.) Sure Neptune and Uranus are just friends. One just happens to have a thing for pantsuits.
Watch DokiDoki's video to Weird Al's Jerry Springer (parody of the Barenaked Ladies song One Week). It sums it up pretty well.
I've not seen El Hazard, but it is sort of on the notorious list. Just from an AMV I saw the eyebrow goes up.
I know some people like to see things that aren't there, but I'm an analytical freak.
You know how many girls in anime end up kissing? NASA is still working on the number.
You were right that close friendships between girls are not uncommon in Japan. The idea runs on the principle that relationships come and go, but a good friend is forever. If you learn some more about the culture a lot more things in anime begin to make sense. I'm still looking for an English copy of the Kojiki myself.
However the friendship thing alone can't justify some of the things in anime. I think Steel Angel Kurumi was mentioned. That one comes right out and says dyke. There is nothing explicit about the scene so if I have to I'll stick a clip on a geocities site or something to prove it I will.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I kinda got the impression that you are some young high school guy who just said 'holy shit sex and violence in animation?!' (That’s not meant as an insult. I'm just trying to figure out how lesbians in anime came as such as shock.)
On the maturity of anime, The Matrix and its philosophical implications largely come from anime. (Ghost in the Shell, Armitage, etc.) The creators were fans of anime and John Woo movies. Anime sort of wormed its way into the West through the SciFi crowd.
A great many of the more famous 'less conventional' pairings in anime are based on evidence in the shows and manga. (sometimes you have to go the Japanese version for more concrete evidence)
While it may not always be said directly the relationships are often implied by artistic designs. Steel Angel Kurumi comes out and says it, Sailormoon hints so heavily a blind man could see it, and then some cases are like Card Captor Sakura or even more sublte. Tomoyo is the overly eager tom-boy friend, strangely lacking interest in the opposite sex, and constantly tagging along.
Sometimes eastern cultures are a little more subtle than westerners are used too. Besides the whole flirty uncertaining thing gets played up a lot in anime. (I could start a list but the text limit might get reached. )

what steel angel kurumi did thay say that in? i got all the dvd's of it but i only seen the first one. heavymatel makes a long~ point about this. besides hentai can you tell me some animes with these so-called 'lesbians' in them? you see, i feel that anime is perfect and all the stuff in anime is perfect. lesbians are an error and are no part of perfection. with that point in view there is no way any 'lesbians' related stuff in anime. and ill need some strong lesbian activity in anime to prove me wrong!. and not just whispers in the night!

Here I'll tell you but beware it is a spolier from this point on.The_Collection wrote:what steel angel kurumi did thay say that in? i got all the dvd's of it but i only seen the first one. heavymatel makes a long~ point about this. besides hentai can you tell me some animes with these so-called 'lesbians' in them? you see, i feel that anime is perfect and all the stuff in anime is perfect. lesbians are an error and are no part of perfection. with that point in view there is no way any 'lesbians' related stuff in anime. and ill need some strong lesbian activity in anime to prove me wrong!. and not just whispers in the night!
The rest is implied, but you wanted proff so there. Sorry if I broke any rules The_Collections is just in denile.Spoiler wrote: Its the second dvd. Saki joins their team and through out the whole thing has constant sexual thoughts of her and Kurumi, and they are pretty detailed with it Not to mention in the second season Kurumi is awaken with a kiss by her Master's daughter, and she instantly falls in love with her. No kurumi and her master never have childeren. She is put to rest before that. Her master has a child with some other woman, and that child wakes up Kurumi in the same way Kurumi's master did. Kurumi falls in love and tries making out with her, and even kurmui's new love's best friend (sorry fogot a the names been a while) is jealous of Kurumi and is tryin gto get her out of the picture so she can have Kurmui's master's daughter all to her lesbo self. There are lesbains in anime as much as it seems you wish there weren't.
Also In Bubble Gum Crisis Tokyo 2040 Lina admits that she is experimanetal in on of the episodes. Nene is presented with a question by Sylia and misinterprets it. She replies that she is not like that, and goes onto say that she means the way that Sylia and Lina are (not together) and in embaressment Lina blushes and says thanks for letting everyone know! It is true at one point she is almost hooked up with a mand, but rather everone finds their love but Lina.
(The are now gays rather than lesbos)Next there is Berserk. One of the generals of Judah has his fun with little kids, and even clames his love for Griffith even though Griffith doesn't feel the same way. Also in the Berserk Manga Guts gets A$$ raped by Dovan.
Shamanic Princess has a scene where to women make out. One against the will of another, but still one of them is a dike.
Revolutionary Girl Utena the Movie shows the two main characters making out.
