lesbians in anime? cant be!

Granted, alot of homosexual stuff in anime IS implied. That's half the fun of it. Makes you feel smart to realize it's there.

And I don't see why there should be any problem with homosexuals in anime.

One more thing

In Sailor Moon you know those two girls that are a little to close for comfort; well over here I was told that they change one of them into a guy. I mean come on. I american censors did that then it was quite obvious that those two had a lot more than a friendship. I mean common!

What exactly do you mean by "solid proof?" It sounds like you're referring to hentai to me.

There are plenty of anime (such as SM and Utena, as mentioned above) that have heavy shoujo-ai...it's fairly common. It's not a huge deal. You don't have to have two female characters making out to know that they're involved.

And for that matter, Neptune and Uranus ARE involved, though I'm not sure if it's ever stated outright since I haven't seen all of that arc of Sailor Moon.

that picture you showed was cleary taken out of context. she was just trying to stand up with her eyes closed and mistakenly bumped her head into her friend's. that happen to me alot. this is what im talking about to miny misunderstanding in anime. she is not a lesbian, merely clumzy.

and besides you cant even tell me what anime that came from!

You would have to be pretty clumsy to do that. Besides look at the pic a bit harder. Its quite obvious the one in the purple at least is intentionally kissing the other one. I can't imagine someone getting up from that far away and bumping into them. Plus she is leaning into her. Also for some more proff go look in the weird screen caps area they have tones of lesbo pics. The fact is whether you like it or not lesbains do exisist in real life and in anime. They have always exisited from the beginning of time and they will always exisist until the end of time. Stop being so closed minded and open your eyes. And besides what do you care if there are lesbos in anime. Let them be, and let who ever wants to see them and enjoy them enjoy them. If you don't then don't buy the anime. Don't end up trunning into one of those evil soccer moms who tries to censor evey thing rather than taking responsiblilty for herself.

Think what you think, besides thinking that you can go against repeatedly factually-supported and accurately referenced proof with poorly-argued, prejudiced rhethoric which is out of tune with any logical and reliable source. Stop dreaming and read the damn posts people listed. There have been at least a half-dozen examples here for you to chew on by now.

I mean, try telling anyone with enough common sense and logical reason that Utena, Sailormoon or Kurumi are in no way implicit (if not explicit!) with its' portrayal of non-heterosexual, same-gender, sexually-motivated and clearly-displayed attaction/relationship is just the viewer's imagination acting up...

...and while you're at it, learn to argue

Heck, I screencapped those shots from the fansub myself. 'Course I know what I'm talking about. The context, FYI, is that there is evidence throughout the series that the character in blue does like the other character, but that the other character only thinks of her as a friend and is sort of uncomfortable about the whole thing. She (the girl in blue) DID do that intentionally.

Otohiko: I guess I agree.While I would like to prove to this guy that he's wrong, he seems stubborn enough not to listen to reason unless we were to show him a video of two female characters making love with each other (against the rules in several ways!) and maybe not even then.

I guess this'll be my last post on this thread.
