l've discussed this on three boards and with countless friends, and each person seems to have a different idea about what happens an in an interview with the director he said that the tow endings are different, and each is as likely asthe other, and there is no "one true ending", just what you percive as that ending. so what you see in the endings is what may have happened, someone witn a different view is not wrong, just not right as well.
Just wondering if the new Directors Cut and Platinium versions are going to differ and wether or not it's worth getting them
PS what do you think Asuka's last words in EoE, that's something else no one can agree on

HE could eat the rei chunks for a month or two, lolEvaXephon wrote:I thought that both of the endings were opposites. In he TV ending, he accepted intrumentality and became a better person. In the movie ending, he rejected it and was doomed to starve to death in a dead world with the girl whom he hated the most.
But I guess I got everything wrong again.

it was generally agreed to be Anoo's sentiments on having to make the EoE film, there was no need for it, but fans had to have their way (thinks to death threats shown in film)hopeful_monster wrote:PS what do you think Asuka's last words in EoE, that's something else no one can agree on

Most people who know what they're talking about agree that Anno wanted to do The End of Evangelion as much as anybody. The original script from Epsiode 25 was used for the episode 25 equivelant of End of Evangelion, why would Anno be pissed about getting the chance to portray his original script?

there was no need for eoe, as i originally stated, the series ending completed it just fine...........
but let me ask you, if anno wanted to make end of eva, why did people send death threats to him, so that he gave in and made it???
i await your reply

I have a feeling that he was more pissed about the circumstances under why he had to showcase his original script.HeartbreakerByZep wrote:why would Anno be pissed about getting the chance to portray his original script?
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

I would have to agree with Majin Koji (that is if I am interpreting it correctly), and that the "alternate ending" is really a supplement to the original ending. As was said earlier, the outcome didn't really change, but the way it happened sure as hell did.
That's good. That's really good. And yes, I realize it was HeartbreakerByZep that said that, but you summarized it well.Corran wrote:I heard they took place at the same time. The tv ending in Shinji's head and the movie from the rest of the world's perspective... like HeartbreakerByZep kinda said.

You mean getting a chance to redo the last two episodes, just like the previous episodes had been redone (ala the "Director's Cut")?)v(ajin Koji wrote:I have a feeling that he was more pissed about the circumstances under why he had to showcase his original script.HeartbreakerByZep wrote:why would Anno be pissed about getting the chance to portray his original script?
I've never seen heard, or even heard rumors or, any proof regarding Anno being pissed off about making The End of Evangelion. Maybe proof exists, but all the time I've seen him in interviews he has acted pleased with it.
