The Side Characters Challenge! ***SPOILERS***

But partly thanks to this thread, but realy more so because the idea just hit me, I'm doing a High energy romance vid to the side characters in Please Teacher. Names escape me at the moment, but the red head and the blond dude.

Hiya! I'm so glad that someone is taking up my challenge! What I really wanted a reply about was if people liked me throwing out ideas for side character videos. I guess that's why I seem so insistent on getting a response. Sorry if I seemed eccentric or something! ^_^

Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] - I haven't seen Please Teacher, but it was somewhere on my list of anime to see eventually. Is it any good? It looks kind of interesting. I'm currently watching Excel Saga, and my next anime is Card Captor Sakura. Hey, I watched you Spirited Away - Vanessa Carlton - "Ordinary Day" video. That was pretty good. It had just the right amount of effects, instead of overpowering the viewers like a lot of videos do. There is a lot to be said for just good, clean editing, you know?

Well, here are more video suggestions. Last time my theme was an amalgam of anime, and this time it's Noir! And...

Noir – Marilyn Manson – “Coma Black” – Chloe, Altena – though this song would work for Altena in particular, I think it would be difficult to separate her from Chloe in a video, since they’re so close in the series. The song is so depressing, and anyone who has seen the episode/s on Altena’s past would know that many of the song’s lyrics fit that situation very well. A warning, though: the song is six minutes long, and might need to be cut down. I’ll admit that it’s been some time since I’ve seen Noir, but I don’t think there was a whole lot of footage of Altena’s past.

Noir – Moulin Rouge – Craig Armstrong – “Final Score” – for some reason (and maybe it’s just me,) I can see a Noir storyline video - I mean, NOIR, literally, as it is described in the anime - put to this song. Just like Noir’s story, this song starts off very slowly and then gradually picks up in speed and intensity until a breaking, explosive climax. It has a very mysterious air to it, which fits in well with the anime’s plotline, as well. For this particular video, I would accept a brief showing of Mireille and Kirika, because, let’s face it, they ARE Noir. BUT - There Is A Catch! They can only appear for less than five percent of the video. I’m talking, a BRIEF flash of them...just enough to establish their presence, and no more.

thats my first video, and far from perfect ^_^ (especially the visual quality) But glad you still liked it.

Please teacher is pretty good, Its a romantic comedy, though not as comedic as Love hina and ranma and those. Its a bit more heavily on the romantic side than most romance comedies. I recomend it. The main character is a boy that experiences an illness that makes him "stop", where his body goes into a state where everything is as if its frozen. He falls in love with his teacher, who is actually an Alien, who came to earth as a survelance officer for her people. Keeping their love a secret, with one of his friends from school also interested in him, aswell as trying to hide the fact that his teacher is an Alien, ontop of the fact that hes keeping his illness a secret aswell, all add up to one fun ride throught the series. I Don't want to tell anything more on that so as not to say any spoilers. What I said so far you find out in Episode 1, so its not realy spoilers. My video centers on two of his friends (Kyosuke and Kaede) that the little mischeivous Ichigo sets up together in the series. Oops that might have been a little spoiler... though you can tell right away that Kaede likes Kyosuke early on in the series anyway. Speaking of which, I'd love to see a profile done to Ichigo. Maybe I'll do one after this one If I can think of something that fits.

FYI: The Chibi thing that killed Vash was also from Please teacher ;p

Ah, another post. I've become quite addicted to this! I guess I just want to keep in touch with the loyal followers of this thread (which I hope is quite a few people...right? *puppy eyes*) Well, anyway, here's what ya came for!

Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] - Honestly, until you said it, I would have never guessed that the Spirited Away video was your very first one. You must have natural talent (not to mention a good program! ^_^) if you can throw out a video like that on your first try. In that case, I applaud you doubly! *golf clap* By the way, thanks for the synopsis on Please Teacher. That really helps to get me more interested in the anime. I liked Love Hina and all, but I DID think it was a little TOO silly at times. Please Teacher sounds like something I'd like as an alternative to Love Hina's sometimes inappropriate goofiness. Eeek! I love "The Chibi Things that Kill." That video is SO cute. Then again, who DOESN'T like that video? ^_^ Hey, I got a question for you, cuz it's been bugging me. Are you the one who created the Danny Elfman "What's This?" music video? Or is there an AMV creator/studio of the exact same name? Seems to me that 'Bakadeshi' would be a pretty unique studio name, and yours DOES say AuN...so maybe it's not you, but I don't know. Sorry if I'm mentioning something you don't know about! ^_^ Well, I'm rambling. So, I'm off to save the Kamui! I wish...

Neon Genesis Evangelion – System of a Down – “Ego Brain” – Gendo Ikari and Yui/Rei, SEELE, Fuyutsuki, the Magi, the Angels, Naoko Akagi (Ritsuko’s mother,) Ritsuko, Kaworu – yet another take on Evangelion’s ‘End of Everything’ plotline would be in this video. I’m not sure on the exact number, but there is an episode very late in the series that tells all about how Fuyutsuki, Yui, and Gendo all met and knew each other. I think that would be the major source of clips for this video. Actually, if you want more of a story, then the focus of this video would be showing what Gendo did to be with Yui again. It would show all of the people he stepped on to get where he was. To get a better feel for the video’s mood, here is what I thought: “I am just a man, fighting other men, for land, for land, while I turn to sand...” – this would be scenes of Gendo and SEELE working together, with the last line about ‘sand’ being when they all turn to LCL fluid in the ‘End of Evangelion.’; “Life is but a dream, drifting on stream, a stream...Consciously it seems, all of what remains...” – this is where I could see the scene of Yui when she’s talking to Shinji in the ‘water’ during the End of Evangelion. Of course, Shinji wouldn’t be IN the scene, but it IS that scene where Yui is. Also, I could see the red ocean at the very end being a part of this section of the video. Do you get where I’m coming from for this video? I hope so, because I think it’s a great idea if it could be pulled off right. The song is fairly short, so I don’t see any reason to cut it down. Gee, this was a long explanation...

Neon Genesis Evangelion – SR-71 – “Tomorrow” – Yui Ikari, Rei Ayanami – this video idea would be very focused on how Rei = Yui, just in a different vessel. Also, I think that it is a great opportunity to show just how much Rei disregards her own existence. The song is very negative; it’s about a person hating his/herself and believing that everyone else is just waiting for his/her downfall. While I think that this song would work great for all of the Eva pilots, this IS a side character focus. It’s too bad that they don’t show Yui herself more often in the series; I really enjoyed her character.

Well, I've still got plenty more ideas to dish out. That is, provided people want to hear them. You do, don't you? *even bigger puppy eyes*

Ah! My Goddess, Angel Sanctuary, Angelic Layer, Chobits, Serial Experiments Lain, Tokyo Babylon, Trigun, X, Yami no Matsuei, Yu-Gi-Oh! - Rabbit in the Moon – “Out of Body Experience” – Urd, Skuld, Morgan, Peorth, Kurai, Arakune, Kira, Rosiel, Katan, Misaki, Shuuko, Oojirou, Persacoms (the random ones you see throughout the series), Dita and Jima, Alice, Deus, the people of the Wired, Mirei, Rem, all of X’s side characters, Muraki and Saki, Marik – this is a very pretty song that would make for a great mood video. Further into the song it has a light techno beat, so it can work for action sequences, too. This can be a very long or short piece, depending on what version is used and how it is cut. The song has a mysterious air, and I chose characters simply by if I thought the mood of the song fit their personalities. Um, I should probably mention, though, that I think the characters of X alone would be more than enough to make a great video to this song. I would love to see the Muraki and Saki video idea put into motion, too. I know that this character list is long, but they don’t ALL have to be in it, of course. I absolutely promise a long, in-depth review to anyone who tries this idea and shows me the results.

Any Anime (though preferably one/some from the list I gave) – Face to Face – “I Won’t Lie Down” – this video is unique in the sense that it wouldn’t really tell about a specific character. It would instead be about side characters in general and how people don’t seem to really care about them. Another theme would lay in the way the side characters always get stepped on, but they just keep getting back up again. I suppose that this would be considered a parody of sorts, then, but not really comedic. The song itself is pretty short. Oh, and there is also a “Kombat Mix” of the song, which I also like and it is only four seconds longer. So, there’s no difference, really; it’s just the beat of the song that is a little changed. I absolutely promise a long, in-depth review to anyone who tries this idea and shows me the results.

I've been having major computer issues and have been unable to check the site much lately. I just got Corran's PM about your comments.

I'm glad you liked my video. Shinobu has always been one of my favorite characters from Love Hina. I honestly don't remember what gave me the idea to use the manga shots, but I think it worked well and I'm glad you agree. After I finished the opening still shots I stopped working on the video due to other conflicts and didn't go back to the video for several months.
Also, I have to agree with you that it's surprising nobody else has tried the combo. Sometimes I get an idea and it feels right, and it turns out 100 over people had the same idea. And then there's time like these.
