*If any of you happened to not have seen DBZ there are spoilers ahead.
Apparently there seems to be something against DBZ as a source of video for AMV, cause' apparently some ppl just string fights together randomly. I dunno.
But DBZ has alot of potential to play around with your emotions, cause' many of the plot's power gaps in conflicts are 'fixed' by one thing, and that is the usual character death or emotional power solution.
I haven't seen all the DBZ AMV's under the 'serious/drama' category, however from the ones I have seen, they all have their points of genius via different devices:
Mersades : Beyond Happiness and Sadness
2:23 - 2:25
Two seconds of sheer genius. After the chorus resumes from the guitar/drum solo, as soon as the music changes and the singer begins to sing, "HOPE!!" (Written on the side of the time machine) is flashed back and forth with a close up of Trunks eyes, which are looking intensely at something.
OMGOSH! It was a beautiful moment, a work of art, and it was only two seconds long. This level of emotion is what I'm talking about.
nailz1000 : Death and Rememberance of Goku
1:38 - 1:42
Not the first time the audio track from an anime was interlaced with an AMV, but the only difference is this is DBZ, where people scream when bad stuff happens. Once again the genius happens when the music is changing to the chorus (well probably happens all the time, but still). 1:38, as the music starts to build up to the chorus, the scene where kid Gohan goes from crying to screaming after Piccolo dies plays. Now its the audio track of Gohan screaming his guts out that I like so much about this part. He starts screaming (ugh, an American voice actor scream, still effective however) as the music picks up to the chorus. Nice.
Ockman : Miss You Goku
2:36 - 2:44
Chorus begins to repeat itself after a break. What is so great about this part is how well the music goes with the scene... Well thats the only real way I can put it. It just goes together nicer than usual. We see every one looking at Cell who is about to detonate himself, and then Goku looks back at every one and begins to smile slowly. Then we see all the other weaklings looking surprised, i.e. the scene just played itself out. You can just imagine what they were thinking. "Why is he smiling?" Well as the plot goes he chooses to die. The music is slow at this part (really not fast at any place in the entire song however), so it goes well with the scene.
I commented on some AMV I by chance viewed. I can't help but think that some will find screaming Goku's and Gohan's unpleasant, and maybe even just dismiss the idea of using scenes with emotion, because frankly they have all been used at one time or another.
However, I think the way these scenes, characters full of anger and emotion from whatever, screaming etc., are used can still be original. The only problem is how to make Gohan's death in the Trunks special play with people's emotions: It has been viewed a billion times and every DBZ with a trunks theme has it. But there just has to be some way to put these screaming, dieing, angry DBZ characters to work. To play with people's emotions. To make them cry at sad parts, at self sacrifice, etc. Who knows, maybe its next to impossible with DBZ, but I just KNOW an AMV using DBZ footage could be made that makes me cry.
That is, after all, my personal goal; to cry from watching an AMV. Don't ask why.
If this sort of DBZ video already exists, plz tell tell tell me! If not, in a few years I'll try my hand (OH NO!).

LOL! That video was... amazing.
But why did you post it as a reply to:
Either you are trying to joke around or I am being too pissy over this.

I'm stumped. I can't seem to come up with a response that doesn't involve expletives, because this video has to be one of the most crappiest things I have ever seen, and I have no reason why you did this. That is, after all, my personal goal; to cry from watching an AMV. Don't ask why.
