please don't flame me, but why on earth would someone that hates X-tina and Brit for their sleezyness would go and do a photo shoot for Maxim?????

It's not Playboy or Penthouse.
The shoots/pics are sexy and provocative to a point.

Maybe to assert her womanhood.

By the sounds of it, mostly those who are offended by seeing Lavigne more naked than usual, for that or other reason. Or the other way, those who are highly interested in seeing that.

Judging by the fact that she's in Maxim, I'd say the latter outnumber the former quite noticeably

I guess that goes to improve the standing of Canadian women in the magazine circuit... or something.

Anyways, enough of the rambling. The more important question is, what has she said about it? Something, I'm sure.

And frankly, considering the amount of magazine covers I've seen her on... it's unsurprising as ever. She's all about exposure. I suppose going from regular to indecent exposure isn't as far a stretch as it might seem.

What has she said, I don't know, haven't heard anything.
Guess something along the lines of:
"Hey, I'm a woman and I can do whatever the fuck I want. Ok. I don't care what anyone thinks. This is about me. I don't limit myself."
She's always saying stuff like that.
Wonder if she's doing that growling face thing she does with almost no clothes on. That would be interesting to see...

I don't see what the big deal is. It's her choice. And I don't think anyone here has the right to call her a hypocrite (bum). I may not like her music, but I can respect that she at least comes off far differently from Britney and Christina, even if she did do a Maxim photo shoot. Maxim isn't slutty or trashy at all.
