And for the person who commented on US movies being the same...watch Color of the Night with Bruce Willis - it's rated R (the same as any violent horror movie), but you see the male body in full 'underwater' glory. Then again, that movie is more sex than story, so I'm amazed it slipped by with only an R rating. Just thought I'd mention it since it's an exception to the rule.

As for what kind of person would ask about anime quirks...maybe an anime fan? If you don't wonder about what you're watching, you may not be old enough (aka responsible enough) to watch it in the first place.

Actually the anime Ebichu has male genitalia, hairy sack and all, no to mention The Ping Pong Club. It is not hentai. I think most people in this thread have not seen too much anime or at least not the odd stuff.

Sexuality can be veiwed in many different ways. For the U.S. it is censored due to the largely christian population. But in japan it's not.
Anime,whether hentai or not, is an art and thusly can be done however the artist feels is appropriate. In short yes they should show more genitals, but only if they want to.
Ever think that may be why they dont show it?
Maybe they think it makes the movie look worse.."than it already is"
I dunno and dont care...butoh well life will go on.
