I'd say Armitage III and Akira. The Akira soundtrack is quite a piece of work, even if you don't like the movie.

Number one in my book:
Yami no Matsuei sound track (I listen to this on a daily basis)
A very close second:
Cowboy Bebop (ALL OF THEM) Yoko Kanno is a musical goddess.
and
Escaflowne for lovers only.

well there are many soundtracks from the slayers series and their all in japanese. The voice actress that plays the main charecter of the show Lina Inverse is Megumi Hayashibara. she does all of the theme songs intro and outro of all 3 series and in all of the moives and ovas, and the video games. in the last episiod of slayers try she sings the song "somewhere in the world" in english. she also sings in other anime, cant think of any right now. but all in all its really good.blueshogun96 wrote: btw: Is it like a heavy metal soundtrack or is it all in Japanese?
If the army or navy ever looks upon heavens scenes, they would see that the streets are guarded by the United States Marines.

Anyway, my favorites are:
FLCL (J-alternative rock)
Boogiepop Phantom (electronica)
Onegai Teacher/Twins (upbeat J-synthpop, plus great background music)
Kare Kano (don't really know how to describe this one)

nope they were all done by Megumi Hayashibara. and also within the slayers next series, one of the episoids they had Lina and Ameila both sing together which i think that song was one of my favorites.I thought someone else did the ending songs?
