yup, it doesnt even follow the movie exatctly, one of the guys is a robot, they didnt even think of putting a robot samurai in the movie made who knows how many years ago
It was 1954. I watched it last week. I loved it. Actually, a lot of the peaks have been perserved, very well. The Kikuchio speach about the farmers, the people who did the betraying, etc. The names are intact, and the characters match up well enough. I love the movie, and I feel that the anime does Katsushiro fairly well. A lot stayed the same, though a lot changed at the same thing. Personally, I love it.

What's the violence level, high, low or moderate?

I've only seen bits and pieces, but it didn't strike me as particularly violent. It seems to be geared as a mainstream TV anime, so I wouldn't be surprised if you'd ever see anything that goes to moderate or above....
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I personnally love this show. I saw up to episode 12 before it was licenced. The setting is very interesting, I would not call it futuristic or historic, sort of a blend between the two. I get the feeling that if I knew more about fudal japan I would understand what things represent.

As for the violence level, it's very moderate. This is not your average samuri anime.

That's good to know, thanks Otohiko, pen-pen2002. I'll put it on my list of anime to watch.
