Forum error
Whenever I log in to the main page then enter the forum, it says I have viewed every topic already. Unless this forum is incredibly dead, I think it's a problem.
SURE, I could read EVERY topic to see which ones were updated, but I'd rather have the problem fixed.

I don't think its a problem. I think its todo with the last time you logged-in.
The first time:
If you log-in it will say you have read no posts. When you log out it records teh time you logged out.
When you log-in it pulls up the last time you logged on and then any new posts from the last time were were logged on are new.
Its not nessasarly unread posts, but posts that are new since the last time you were logged on.
Yes, clearing you cookies will get all posts to come up as unread.

Did you read what he said?Nekoboy Sal wrote:Did you read what I said?HungryCrackPot wrote:FYI: I cleared the cookies last night. Still had the same problem just now though.
He said, in his very first post, that all the threads are viewed as already read when he logs in. This means that he sees no thread as a new thread. You had it the other way around. No offense, but maybe you should read more carefully before you accuse others of not reading carefully.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Thank you. You saved me a lot of typing, and managed to leave out the insults I would have thrown in.flint_the_dwarf wrote:Did you read what he said?Nekoboy Sal wrote:Did you read what I said?HungryCrackPot wrote:FYI: I cleared the cookies last night. Still had the same problem just now though.

ANYWAYS, I had to run several programs last night, including a scan disk and such (do it every Saturday night), and I come back and all is good. THIS THREAD IS NO MORE!

What browser are you using? Have you tried it with other browsers? Because I don't really see how it could be anything other than a browser issue.
Although... for me, threads are always marked read when I first open up my browser, if I didn't log out before I close the browser. I never log out; I'm always logged in. And I rarely shut my browser (I use Opera with tabs). But sometimes my computer freezes and I have to restart, etc. Usually when I open the page back up again, even though I'm logged in automatically, all the threads (even the ones I haven't read) are marked as read.
I'm not sure if that's at all relevent to your problem, but that's the only circumstance in which all the threads (read or unread) are marked as read... unless I click that button on the bottom of the page that marks all forums read.
