crash! please help

Post by Aneino_Kaijin » Tue Jul 09, 2002 3:51 pm

I'm trying to rip some clips from DVDs on my new DVD drive and have been following the EXCELLENT guides on this site, and have pulled the VOB files off the DVDs. But when I try to use DVD2AVI, it crashes. Every time! I tried FLASKMpg as well, and that's doing the same thing.

Anyone have this problem? I have WinXP, could that be part? Also, are there any other programs out there that could do the same thing? Thanks

You're not making AVIs with DVD2AVI, are you? Make sure you just save the project files.

dont use the scrollbar then!

OK, try this: import only one vob file and try preview see if it runs ok. after that you can export or try another one. find out which one that contain errors, and then redo that vob.

if that doesnt work try rip dvd again using another program, ie vStrip.

Well, that worked, only doing one at a time! But now I can't open the AVS file. Sometimes you can't win. *laughs and wanders off to fiddle with it some more*

You may need to rewrite the AVS file.

Do you have to save it any special way? I mean other than with the correct affix on the end. Premiere claims it does not recognise that sort of file (and I did put the plugins in the plugin folder)

Sorry I'm being such a pain.

got it. Now just to make it stop being just a black line.

Amazing what the little break afforded by pointless forum posting can do for a frazzled brain. :_)

Have you installed the Huffyuv codec?
