Gridline Studios AMV contest

Post by Dynamic Bandwith » Mon Nov 01, 2004 5:04 am

Hello there guys and girls,

Gridline Studios is a starting AMV studio that me and Rellik (Relliknl on teh org) started about half a year ago. We are trying to put the Netherlands on the map in the AMV world. Now we haven't released many videos yet, but that will most def come. Gridline Studios does actually have things sorted out. Like hosting and such. And we plan on using that hosting.

THEREFORE: Gridline Studios is holding an amv contest.
Stated below are the dates, how to submit your video, the contest details and the prizes.

The rules:
- No videos made with windows movie maker
- File size must not be over 65 megs
- No hentai and/or nudity
- No stolen material shall be entered

The dates:
- Final date for submission 25th of Januari
- Contest starts 1st of Februari
- Time to vote for videos 1,5 weeks
- Contest ends half of March

How to submit your video:
Option 1: Mail a download link (direct or indirect) to contests@gridlinestudios.net
Option 2: Add contests@gridlinestudios.net to your MSN-messenger list and send the video via MSN-messenger direct file transfer
Option 3: Ship it to us on cd (worst choice, contact bvdbasch@gridlinestudios.net for further details)

The details:
This contest is going to be king of the hill style. Meaning once in 1,5 weeks two videos will battle out against eachother. Visitors of gridlinestudios.net will then vote which video is best. The video which is best will win and stay for another 1,5 weeks to battle a new video. The best 3 videos (the 3 videos that lasted for most weeks) win! We accept videos with every codec. It really doesnt matter. We accept no videos made with windows movie maker, but everything else goes. Once the submission date passes Me and Rellik will choose which videos to put in the contest, so submitting your video does not mean it will be in it. However, should your video not be in our contest, we will send you a e-mail and tell you why you wont be in it. If you do not recieve an e-mail, you can count yourself in.

The prize:
The best three videos win free hosting on the gridlinestudios server for 1 video of choice for 1 year. (videos may be changed during that year)

Got questions?:
Mail your question to contests@gridlinestudios.net or post your question here.

Well thats all there is to this contest. We hope you like it. Submit your video and hope for the best.

p.s. Gridline Studios keeps the right to change terms and conditions and such during anytime they wish, but they wont do so if unnecessary.

Kind regards,
Dynamic B.

so...unless you get a lot of editors as visitors....all the winners are going to be Naruto vids to a LP or evanescence song.

Actually....
NO!

No my friend,
This is why we make a selection of the videos. We only plan on putting in original videos with style, taste, funk and effort. Personally I'm sick of it too seeing Naruto becoming what DBZ once was in the AMV world.. So unless a standard video/song combo has brilliant editing I highly doubt that it will be in the contest. We aim for high quality in this one mate.

So absolutely no worries!

i will have to see what kind of long term project i can rustle up for this one.

I better make it long term, because if i want to last that long in king of the hill elimination, i better make it snazzy.

That is SO uncool.

Some of us are cheap/poor or have the choice: DVDs or good (or at least not free) editing program. Therefore some of us choose DVDs.

Besides, how are you going to know unless someone tells you or it's a .wmv?

Not that I would necessarily get very far even if I was allowed to enter... but it's the principle of the thing, and besides, so people who use Windows Movie Maker are very good... of course you realize this, or you would not feel obligated to make such a rule.

Sort of sorry about the rant.
