I'm gonna go with the people who earlier said Lafiel from Crest/Banner of the Stars. Heck, anyone who's got the potential to be an Empress (and a kind, benevolent one at that) would make a good president. Sure better than any of the other canidates we've seen in the last 20 years...
Anyways, I'm rooting for Count Jinto to be her Vice President. He's usually not far behind her anyways.

I would go with Amelia from Slayers, but I'm worried enough about her country and how she'll handle being Queen. If she's anything like her dad...scary...although, Seyruun does pretty well...

Evaluations of the prospects of the contenders:

Gohan - Is too young, plus people would say "His only qualification is that Goku was his father." Well, maybe that wouldn't be a handicap these days.

Ilpalazzo-sama - A contender.

Jet Black - Has facial hair, that disqualifies him (I mean that in the sense of electibility). Arm is fake, which would probably turn more people off than it would attract.

Kagome, Osaka, Chiyo-chan, Radical-Edward - All have vaginas, therefore the sizeable chauvinist vote wouldn't even consider 'em.

Katsuhiko Jinnai - Sleazy, therefore good for politics. Has delusions of grandeur, therefore good for Karl Rove. Incompetent, which is no obstacle these days.

Lafiel - Has a vagina and is potentially a good leader, which makes her doubly damned.

Miroku - Clergy and a pervert. A common enough combination, but all the PR in the world couldn't help him.

Oe Kintaro - Has background in manual labour, and is a pervert. Therefore a good candidate, but probably has limited electoral prospects.

Naruto - Wears a handband.

Onizuka-sensei Eikichi - Educator + pervert. Could carry the blue states. The most obviously Asiatic of the candidates here, which is probably a strike against him.

Wolfwood - He carries that cross around and it just happens to be a gun at the same time, so that means he's a contender.

Airs Blue, Griffith, Justy Ueki Tylor, Retro, Souba Ayame - I don't know enough about them to judge.
