Who here has watch these series?
I'm knew here so I'd like to know who among you has watched and loved some of my favorite series.
Vandread--It's my second favorite. My most fav. is Sailor Moon, but it's a well-known. It's one of only two mecha series that I like(the other being Full Metal Panic!)
I My Me! Strawberry Eggs--Well, look at my username. This series is my third favorite.
Magic User's Club (Mahou Tsukai Tai!)--My fourtth favorite. I prefere the TV to the OAV.
Ayashi no Ceres-- Probably the best know out of the others I listed. It's my fifth favorite (it'd be higher on my list, but I perfere comedy to seriousness).

Seen it all.
Vandread - Love it, watched many times over the years.
I My Me! Strawberry Eggs - Thought it was entertaining. Enjoy seeing more emphasis on Teachers (they need more respect).
Magic User's Club (Mahou Tsukai Tai!) - Lots of fun, though I have yet to see the dub - hear it is hilarious.
Ayashi no Ceres - Overrated and dull as hell.

The only thing that's overrated in Ayashi no Ceres is Touya.
Dammit, they should have done more episodes with Yuuhi since he's obviously a more entertaining character (he fights guys with CHOPSTICKS; how much cooler is that ).
I only finished Vandread 1st Stage (I thought it's going to be a heaping pile of fanservice, but thank goodness it had a good plot plus the Dita/Hibiki relationship is so adorable) and Ayashi no Ceres (it looked darker so I gave it a chance; I chose wisely ).

Ayashi no Ceres overrated? Touya overrated? Well, I guess everyone has their own opinion.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the other series, though rubyeye. Especially Vandread, so few people know about it in my town that ask all my friends. their friends, and my sister's friends who like anime if they'd like to borrow the sereis. Needless to say, only one person dilkied it and he won't give me reasons why !
The MUC dub is good and hilarious, espcially the outtakes "Yes Takakura take me now! Oh sorry, heh, heh, wrong line."
Oh and check out Second Stage soon angelx03. Vandread really gets good in the second season especially Hibiki and Dita's realtionship .

It was only recently that I rented a copy of Ceres thanks to an incredible AMV (which I am too lazy right now to post a link to - maybe later). It had an interesting story but the drama and angst was so rushed there was virtually no character development. That main guy, Touya...jesus, his dialog was so boring and monotone - it was worse than Keifer Sutherland's delivery in the Armitage: Polymatrix movie. I wanted him to die just for having no emotion in his voice. And why the hell Ceres (or her human counterpart) fall in love with such a guy is beyond me. Must be that "mysterious" image thing.
And that was the other problem, Ceres (human). At times she would emotionally break down for reasons that totally escaped me. It was one of those "Japanese" things - characters would react to things that no American would ever react to in the same way. I remember she would start crying over something and I was like, WTF? There was no build up to see her react that way so I couldn't empathize with her plight. It was like the scene was just thrown in there to hurry the plot along - hence the rushed feeling of the series.
By the half way point it starting feeling tedious to continue and that's not a good sign. When I finished I could understand where a lot of the negative criticism for this show comes from - and I'm right there with them. Sorry.

There's no need to apologize. If you don't like something, you don't like something. As I said, a reason why Ceres isn't as high on my list of favorites as it could be is because of all the angst and violence. I never felt it was rushed though.
Just be glad my sister isn't here now. She'd probably try to pry the keyboard way from me so she can complain. Ceres is my fifth favorite, but it's her most favorite.
