I dont think this is on here, so i'll ask (premiere 7 help)

Post by Moi_Dix_Mizer » Sat Nov 06, 2004 10:06 am

I'm used to using windows movie maker for all my AMVs, I just recently got Premiere. I know in movie maker, when I import a clip, it cuts it up into nice little bits for me, making it easy to find what I want.

When I import in premiere, its still one big chunk. Is there an option that cuts it up for me?

Thanks allot for the help! :D

AFAIK, it only does scene change detection when you are capturing footage from a DV camera.

I believe that's the case, too. But...if you capture your footage through a DV camcorder - which I did for a couple of years - you can get your scene detection and splitting that way.

I'm not sure this works with a DV bridge like the Canopus ADVC-100. I don't think the device provides a time-stamp. I could try it here, but it's too late to set it up.

Why must you guys talk in such a mysterious unhelpful way. It's best to not have the clips cut up for you. It's like going to buy a video game with half the choices taken out by someone else. I hated it at first with adobe 7.0 but now I like it.
