Post by Maver » Tue Nov 09, 2004 9:47 pm

I'm making a AMV DVD and was wondering if any of you guys could list off some high qulity to put on the DVD.

Only thing the video has to be is

1. made in the year 2004
2. a good video (overall)

thanks for your help, when i get done with this project i'll post a torrent link for all of you to download.

Some of those have info pages now but didn't at the time of the relevant contest. Check the Super Search.

thanks, i've got so many AMVs now i gota try to figure out which ones to use and which ones not to use

btw speaking of DVDs lots of these vides that are both Divx and mpeg versions, when convterting sence DVD is pretty much mpeg 2 at high bit rate (or so i hear) should i use the mpeg version because less will be killed in quility as oposed to divx/xvid?

You mean to tell me that you're making a DVD compilation... without actually having any idea how to successfully convert the AMVs from whatever format they're in to proper DVD spec? Considering that most AMVs are released these days in XviD at 24FPS, you better figure out how to convert to the proper size, aspect ratio, and framerate, otherwise you're screwed.

Also, you're going to have to ask permission from each of the editors if you plan to release the dvd image on bittorrent or whatever.

was already plaining to do that.

i just hope the videos are in YUV, but i already know some things about conversion. though xvid uses other fourmulas for compression then mpeg so i was wondering if mpeg 1 was closely related to mpeg 2 in the way of compression. if it is then coverting from 1 to 2 isn't gona to have that much qulity loss. but if its completly differn't then i mite as well go with the xvid cuzz to me it looks like more qulity. thats what i was asking
