Decent Movie Making Program

Post by Final_Ninja » Tue Nov 09, 2004 6:58 am

This has probably been asked before but anyways...

Windows Movie Maker(1&2) are driving me insane. I'm not picky, I just want an unglitchy program that doesn't bomb out every 2 seconds. One I can download for free. Any suggestions?

Free?

Cinelerra is Free as in Speech, as well as in Beer. But unless you want to use an equally Free OS, you're probably stuck.

if you manage to find a copy of moviexone...for some reason it's not available at the major download sites...I think the company went out of business, but yes, moviexone, when I first started I found that program and it was very very good for freeware...suspiciously good :x ...unless of course, this is just my memory tweaking what actually happened...in which case I'd also like to recommend Zwei-Stein http://www.thugsatbay.com/software/zwei ... nload.html if you're feeling lucky...although I don't seem to remember what exactly this program does, I just remember downloading it at some point

I could have sworn I have moviexone backed up somewhere...I will check

Get a bootable linux like Knoppix create some pernament hdd space for it (ya'l find loads of tutorials online), install Cinelerra, and bob's your video editing and freedom fighting uncle.

Point taken, bum.

I think Mandrake Move is designed for that sort of thing, with the thumbdrive use and all.

I wish I could believe that it was that easy.

...however, having done around five or six Cinelerra installations on various GNU/Linux systems I can say, authoritatively, that it isn't nearly that simple :P
