Thiers no such thing as an amv revolution. Their never will. Why? Because amv's arent a pure art form. They borrow material from other art forms and merge them togeather. Their can never truely be something new, because their allways we're aspects of amv's (film, music) which existed as a part of amv's long before amv's came into existant.
What thier is however is an evolution. Euphoria was definitly step up in that evolution, pushing for the use of effects in amv's. And like all evolutions (compare this to the rise of advanced graphic api's like dx9 with pixel/vertex shading) thier were people who went against it. People who complained about too much effects, and not enough amv's with good scene sync. So what realy evolved was the complexity of editing. Amv's themselves didnt evolve. They just expanded, became more varied. Eventual however, effects rae gooing to get to a point where they simply crash and anything fancier than a crossfade or a piano key is going going to be frowned upon. This is because its geting extremely easier to make effects. These days, once you get to grips with the consept of masking, overlays and keyframes, its easy to do just about any effect you can think of. 3D composition is a bit more complex, but all that requires is for someone to spend an hour or two going through with some tutorials.
Then again, does all ths realy matter ? Do we need evolutions and revolutions and anything els which describes the advancement of amv's ? personaly, amv's for me are nothing but a hobby which lets me express myself creatively. And for everyone els who makes them, they're nothing but a hobby. Lets forget about all this revolution stuff and just enjoy this hobby, as a comunity, through each others work. After all, its all for fun, so why complicate it ?

if they ever prove that God didn't create the world(which i believe he did) then they will burn in Christian Hell!!11!!!Pie Row Maniac wrote:People make it hard to enjoy watching AMVs when all they want to do is study them.
Which is why I think scientists are going to burn in Christian hell!!1one
OT: Revolution of amv's, they get better and better, not so much the fansy effects (since i hate amv's with heavy effects[and euphoria is the reason i hate so many of them now]) but more so the effort thats being put into amv making, more and more people have started to give a shit about this art of amv making. Dont you dare get me wrong and believe that I just said Euphoria has no effort, it by far would have as much as anyone else puts into their own.

. if there were to be a Next Revolution in AMV's - we are going to have to make
it by hand; line-by-line, frame-by-frame ... yup - home made Animations!

Homeade AMVs
Maybe we'll see more footage actually designed in Flash, 3DS MAX, etc?
Maybe there will be more videos actually created rather than simply spliced together from other people's work.
Just a thought.

. I think those days, of ReBoot - Totally Spies and others created first inwiserd wrote:...in 3DS MAX ...
3D then re-rendered into a "sketch and Toon Module" have out-lived their
usefulness!. -or am I the only one whose been seeing 3D show being cancelled
within a Month of their release dates?
. There are many many different ways that Animations can be used
and something New has got to be coming soon - or everybody will start to
ignore Videos altogether!
. Whatever it may be, I wish it would hurry-up and get here.

who the hell cares if AMVs are "revived" or "dead"?
Because it's what drives alot of us, to make something other people havnt done, the 60 yearold (or so) quote "to go where no man has gone before" and it's true...
We want to do that. And infact I think lest we admit it, alot of us will never get there. The problem is, alot of people are much to willing to say "hell with it, I wanna do what that guy did, KICK ASS ACTION VIDEO!".
Not to seem "elitist" but I don't, I say "I wanna do something diffrent".
The one thing that drives me crazy, is thinking that SOMEONE might have done exactly what I'm doing. And I think that, when more people admit to themselfs (or start thinking) that THEY want to change.
It'll be for the betterment of the community, much more, your style and substance.
I don't watch anime music videos to hear pop music and watch some cuts that show one episode with no cuts.
I could plug in my audio A/v cord and listen to mtv over my dvd player if I wanted that thank you.
