The rules:
- No videos made with windows movie maker
That is SO uncool.
I was wondering when someone would bring this issue up. But let me tell you, it's not uncool... There is a perfectly good reason for it. Which I will state below underneath the second quote.

Some people who use Windows Movie Maker are very good... of course you realize this, or you would not feel obligated to make such a rule.
Laughs! This is funny! Off course that is not the reason why whe choose to set such a rule. We are aiming for high quality videos in this contest. Hell, we from Gridline Studios don't even participate in this contest
It is true there are some good .wmv videos, HOWEVER, nowadays most people with actually no experience in video editing just grab some footage, put it in windows movie maker export it and then upload it to teh org, which is not a good thing. Most .wmv videos are still crap! Therefore we chooce not to allow videos made with windows movie maker assuring we keep the quality high in the contest.
So a Premiere edited video is good as a standard? NO! Therefore we select the videos that are entered and only the high quality ones will make it to the contest.
So let's make a deal for the .wmv ppl out there? Feel you have a good .wmv video like this one:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=43208. Submit it. Otherwise don't try!

Besides, how are you going to know unless someone tells you or it's a .wmv?
We assumed that when ppl read no videos made with windows movie maker, they stop reading....

I've seen some pretty amazing things come out of WMM.
Same goes for fansubs. There is absolutely nothing wrong with videos that use fansubs as footage, unless you leave the subs in. If you do that, your just not verry bright
Just look at this "fansub" video! No subs and still ace!
