If you are using some other program besides a ripper to upload the footage , using DVD43Free will undo the CSS encryption protection on the disc. It should then be like working with an unprotected disc.

downwithpants is right in recommending DVDDecryptor, but don't use SmartRipper. It's a solid program, but it hasn't been updated in about 3 years. I've recently had lots of problems when trying to rip video, where vobs ripped in SmartRipper would cause problems in DGIndex but vobs ripped in DVDDecryptor had no problems.

I sadly must report that SmartRipper gave me tons of garbage on certain episodes of Hellsing, while DVD Decrypter ripped them with no problem.

Now if only DVD Decrypter would give info on each chapter so I don't have to go poking around quite as blindly for the ones that I want, and would actually let me choose the name for the output VOBs.

Hmm. I've never had any problems with SmartRipper, but I suppose I should keep an eye on things from now on... >_>

You have separate threads about legality of AMVs going already, please keep the discussion to them. And ripping a DVD is 100% legal at least where I live in. :?

God I feel like such a fucking moron mentioning this to her. She totally twisted my words, and I'd like to offer an appology to the members that have had to deal with her newfound "knowledge."
