help with anime, round the time of naucisaa

You guys helped me out with this before... I saw an anime when I was a kid and I hope that someone else has seen this too and can help me with a title....
I saw The Last Unicorn, Naucisaa (the one you guys helped me with before) and this other one all in the same year.... i'll try best as i can... i was about 8 so it is a LOT fuzzy

i origionaly thought this was the same as Naus, but it is not... i had 2 molded into one.... here is the best seperation i can give.
all i remember is the end (i think it was the end...) there was this place, kind of like a cartoon version of the end of labrynth... the "city" with the startcases going everywhere... there was a "i think it was floating" castle/city above, and this very screwed up little old man/wizard/not sure what the hell he/it was.. that floated/ flipped all round and upside down. the "castle" fell down and for some reason the term cookooland keeps coming to mind.....
i had a bit of a screwed up kidhood, so things tend to get molded together. thank you, whoever you are that helped me seperate Nau... that one from what i remember scarred me a bit, so did The Last Unicorn... this one was in there too...
these were/are things that messed up 8 year olds should NOT see.....

It was done by Studio Ghibli, same company that did Nausica
