No sir, you are not. I think of Mr. Hansen for a moment every time someone mentions the series. Actually, I saw the manga for sale a few years ago and nearly flipped out, thinking Beck's life had been turned into manga.

Maybe I should watch the series. I keep getting recommendations for it.

I like almost everything about this series.. The character designs.. The style.. The premise.. But ironically enough, the aspect I hate about Beck is what the whole show is about.. The music!

From what I can tell, the main character is supposed to be talented at singing and will become the main singer for the band (this is only a guess, but I'm pretty sure that's what's going to happen). Well from what I've seen and heard so far, his voice is nothing special!

And how about that pretty boy who was the pitcher for the baseball team? They were talking about what a great singer he is, so when they finally showed him singing, I expected something smooth or something.. You know, something that shows vocal talent. But how does he sing? In typical yelling and screaming fashion!

And the English blows, too.

Well, it's supposed to be a punk band. [stereotype]Punk bands are supposed to have crappy vocals, it's a law or something [/stereotype]. Also, at least inferring from the opening sequence (which is dangerous), I assume the main character will be a secondary singer or second singer, like Barenaked Ladies or a few other bands that switch off singing roles.

The 'pretty boy' I thought sang pretty good [stereotype](for the genre!)[/stereotype]. And as for the English...this is some of the best English I've ever heard in an anime. Not really SAYING much, but there it is.
