you see, at the end of evangelion, while asuka and batman and shinji are having an orgy. green lantern comes and throws some cats at a nearby bird so it won't have enough time to steal his memory from the penguin doctor. that's about the time where asuka and shinji woke up from their dream. shinji happened to wake up before asuka, so he had time to become a crocodile(for real this time yall). he got up and proclaimed him to be the phatest of the phat. then it rained mice and it started fading out. you think it's gonna be the end. BUT NO!! anno is too much of a psychological genius to let the story end on such a combustion engine. he gets bill cosby to come in, and stick his hand in some giant gay man made of lava's chest. then shinji went on to become a snake, whom we all watch out for.

then they beat mumrah the ever living and it was totally sweet.

Lain is slow-paced, delves deeply into psychological exploration, and relies on visual symbolism and creative useage of sound. It has very little action to speak of. I highly recommend sampling it first before you buy it, because not everyone will like it. True for any series, but more so for Lain. It's dark, convoluted, and psychologically creepy.

Download the first two or three episodes, then make a decison from there. Personally, after downloading and watching the first three eps, I was consumed with the need to buy the series, but that's just me. I have never regretted buying Lain. It is one of my absolute favorite series.

I personally highly recommend it, but I encourage you to download some sample eps to form your own opinion.

If anyone would like to talk about EVANGELION, I'd be happy to talk about it.

E-Mail me at unclemilo@yahoo.com.

I'd be pleased to talk about Lain as well... but I know a lot more went over my head in that series than Evangelion...

However... I don't want to swamp the board with discussion.

Lain is one of my favorite anime; however I should warn you that - as others have said - there's very little action. Trying to figure out WTF is going on is one of the things that I found interesting about it - think of it like a riddle.

PS: People generally view lain as either a well-made cerebral series or as a piece of pretentious art-house anime, but I still think it's worth watching.

PPS: The second half of the series is when it gets REALLY weird. :)
