Ahhh, so you are looking for a viewer.
Hmmm... I haven't worked on Windows in a long time; so if you are using windows I really don't know what to suggest. I'm sure someone else here does, though.
On *nix, check out Totem, Xine, or MPlayer.
On Mac OS X, look into VLC -- actually, I think VLC is completely cross-platform, so even if you do run Windows, then you could look into VLC... although to be honest I find that VLC has some weird issues with skipping/etc. It doesn't seem to be quite as robust as it could be. Just IMHO.
What Operating System does your computer use, ssdrizzt666? That would help to narrow the field...

Sorry for the late response.
Hmm... Mac OS 9?
I have never worked on that type of hardware/software combination, so I will be of little help to you, I think. I could only suggest that you check out VLC, as it is one of the most cross-platform movie players that I am aware of.
Other than that, you could stick with the QT player, of course.

VLC and MPlayer are usually used to play DivX & XviD AVI's in Mac OS X but neither of these was ever ported to the Classic Mac OS. The best way to play these files would be to convert them to .mov with DivX Doctor. Then they should play in QuickTime Player.
As for playing WMV: Windows Media Player for the Classic Mac OS ended support with WMV7 or 8 so anything encoded in WMV9 is going to be unplayable (same applies to WMA9)
